Your Nintendo account is US right? You just go into the eshop and add credit card, it will prompt you to enter zip code? or was that entered elsewhere/previously?

Yes mine is US account. In the eshop I just choose the game I want, click purchase, they ask for zip code, key in US zip code which have no tax and will go to a page to key in you credit card details.

SWEET! Thanks a lot for the detailed explanation. What zip code did you use? and only key in US zipcode right? don't have to fake any address this time?
I was worried about needing to buy eshop cards again because NNID cannot change region.

One more I add for you guys lol.

Also the day 1 system update is small doesn't even take more than 10sec for me.

Zelda update seems big though, it's taking like a while to finish.

I use 97219 portland oregon got from Google search. No need to key in address. Just ask for zip code. Then on credit card details page I put my address post code.

my guess is try to do manual setup & use google dns or opendns and see if the dns problem while trying to use your phone hotspot resolves

tbh they sell cheapest @ rm1999 for grey. they didnt state amiibo free gift so its pretty fair, others selling rm2190 onwards hv the gifts.

Dunno I keyed in the zip and they didn't put in any tax also. It's still USD 49.99.
