105mm has option to only focus from 0.5m to infinity...which should help focus speed abit as it doesnt need to hunt the full range.
but again, its not so much the focus speed as it is the narrower field of view.

That's some good feedback there my friend, will definitely keep that in mind thumbup.gif as for the focusing speed, the slow would not be as slow as kit lens would it?
Cheers biggrin.gif

don't think it will be that slow haha. if not the autofocus is just bullshit for a 3k product tongue.gif

Are you talking about the mobile app? I can still view mine in full size (5609 x 2139) I reduced it down to that size coz the original was insanely large.. (30+ shots with 24MP)

you will have to go to the download section to view the full sized image tho.. it won't display the fullsize in your photo stream tho...

here is an example.. hope my link works..

A battle for survival between a weaver ant (Oecophylla sp.) and a wasp, which are quite closely related to one another. Who do you reckon will win the fight?

The answer is simple: the wasp will win so long as the weaver ant doesn't get any reinforcements. This is because the weaver ant doesn't have a stringer, even though its bite can be powerful. On the other hand, all the wasp has to do is stab the ant with its venomous sting and its over.

not say kenot, but only at further focus distance. it's a nature of most macro lens, they tend to close down the aperture automatically as you focus closer and closer. something to do with the optical design i guess.

At 1:1 ratio, fstop is about f/5.6

Only when doing macro. The loss of aperture at macro distances is how it is for internal focus lenses. You don't shoot f/2.8 for macro anyways. For normal shooting, the lens works fine at f/2.8.

Errr... if not wrong the Canon EF 100mm IS f/2.8L does 1:1 at f/2.8. Paiseh. laugh.gif

It's actually about f/4.8. Oh, VR also does not work especially at 1:1 macro work. Shake is too amplified at this magnification to be compensated by the VR.

Nah, it's f5.6 and I am dead sure about it. I used that lens before and you obviously can see the aperture closes down as you turn the focus ring to a closer focus distance tongue.gif

It's f/5.6 despite what the LCD may show.
Formula is about (1 + magnification) x (stated aperture)

I'm using nikon sb600.. haven't use the speedlite for quite a while, when i want to use it yesterday, it can't be turned on. when i check the battery compartment, realized i didn't remove the battery during the last time i used it and the battery has started to leak and damage the battery compartment. can you guys suggest where i can send it for repair and how much does it usually cost to repair it?

Thanks!
