anyone here still using d600? is it safe to buy a used one or just skip it since the dust issue might stay forever?

Wanted to ask .
Currently I am choosing between d700 and d600. D600 is lighter, newer, more megapixel and Bette high ISO (not sure). D700 is heavier, bigger, better AF system. That's the main differences that I can see, both of them are around 3k used. I am going to pair it with 35mm or 50mm f1.8g. The 35mm works on ff too albeit with little bit of vignetting right? Which is the better body to choose? I don't really need the higher MP but its handy to have. |

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Mar 20 2015, 04:39 PM) the dust issue? I thought Nikon will replace it for free or? hmmmm the 200g more on the d700 and also the age puts me a little off compared to the d600. it seems that I have to go Nikon TS to try them when i'm free to get the answer. Anyone has used 35mm dx or 50mm f1.8 letting go? |

QUOTE(gerald7 @ Mar 30 2015, 10:39 PM) Well compare to the 200mm f2.0 of course la... both I have tested, both I love. Razor sharp probably not but I dont think would make much of a difference on my FE2. not saying that it's a bad lens but on film camera you probably can't really notice the different. anyways, seems like the new samyang 135mm f2 is a quite awesome choice too (super rare in malaysia but reviews said that it is on par if not better than the canon L). |

Wanted to ask fellow nikon sifus here before I jump into nikon
Is there any good wide angle lens for nikon dx system that costs around rm1k (used or not)? Closest result from my own research is the 16-85mm. The kit lens is doing fine but I would like a more responsive AF lens. And how's the 80-200 f2.8 Af-s like? it's quite an old lens so any common issues with it? |

QUOTE(gnome @ Apr 21 2015, 01:43 PM) Dont think there is any nikon wideangle that cost around 1k iirc. 16-85mm is a good lens apart from the variable aperture. thanks for the reply as for 80200 afs i've used my friend copy few times and seems solid. heavy as heck and build like a tank oh yea anyone here use tamron 2470 vc? currently using nikon 2470 thinking of upgrade (or is it upgrade) to tamron 2470 vc lol |

QUOTE(MR_alien @ Apr 21 2015, 03:41 PM) if im going to buy back mirrorless...its going to be sony...nikon is too limited and doesn't interest me limited in terms of what? sony is still the the top in mirrorless... yeah..light weight...more modes to play with and more AF points Mind you, most E-mount lenses are a lot more expensive compared to Nikon/Canon/Sigma/Tamron equivalent. And there's no point talking about how good/ bad a system is if you are only going to use kit lenses. |

QUOTE(gnome @ Apr 21 2015, 11:44 PM) From what i can see nowdays people buy sony mirrorless camera then buy adapter and slap on nikon or canon manual lenses since the A mount lens either too expensive or not yet available Exactly, the sensor is good and the body is small that's it. And at the end of the day, FF lenses will still be big no matter what's the flange distance (Leica lenses excluded).I have a friend who sell off his A7R and bought Fuji XT1. The reason is limited lens choices from sony (this guy money no issue one |

QUOTE(Everdying @ Apr 23 2015, 09:25 AM) the cheapest around rm1k i guess is tamron 10-24. that's the thing I am worried of because of the age of the lens. but if the afs motor dies, can the screw driven AF work? 80-200 af-s is known for the motor crapping out. if u can afford to, dont think twice and just get 70-200 vr2. 70-200 is too expensive for me btw what's nikon policy to grey bodies? |

QUOTE(Everdying @ Apr 23 2015, 01:46 PM) u would need to repair or become expert at manual focus how bout 80-200 AF-D 2 ring version? or even 70-300VR if u dont need f/2.8. hmmm the thing is I am getting a d5200 so I can only rely on AFs motor. But I think a used d7k with 80-200 Af-d should be cheaper |

QUOTE(Everdying @ Apr 24 2015, 11:16 AM) oh ya, 80-200 AF-D 2-ring version can have issue of the AF-MF ring cracking. too bad Nikon doesn't make cheap 70-200 f4 like canon does (non IS but at 2k its unbeatable). but 2.2k for the AFS is no brainer right?but its still a cheaper fix then changing a motor but at the current used price of the 80-200 2-ring now its still decent value...else there's always sigma 70-200 Tried sigma 70-200 before, a little too soft and focusing is quite a pain to deal with if you got a bad copy |
