Indonesia's MPR Contributes RM40,000 To Repair House Damaged In Aerobatic Crash

LANGKAWI, March 17 (Bernama) -- The People's Consultative Council or Majelis Permusyawaratan Rakyat (MPR) of Indonesia has handed over a contribution of SGD15,000 (about RM40,000) to the owner of a house which was damaged in an incident involving a Jupiter aerobatic aircraft belonging to the Indonesian Air Force last Sunday.

The money, in the form of a cheque was given by MPR head representative, Dr Oesman Sapta to former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad who represented the victim, Zulkeflee Abu Talib, 46.

Oesman said the money was assistance to the victim who lost his house in the incident.

"I have handed over the contribution in the name of MPR and hope it will lighten the burden of the victim in repairing the house," he told reporters after presenting the cheque.

Meanwhile, Dr Mahathir who received the contribution, was thankful to MPR.

"The contribution is adequate to rebuild the victim's house," he said.

Last Sunday, two Jupiter Aerobatic Team aircraft owned by the Indonesian Air Force were involved in a crash while carrying out an aerobatic exercise at the Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre (MIEC) at 2.04pm. In the incident, a house was damaged in Kampung Gelam nearby.

The accident took place when a group of six KT-1B aircraft was crossing the air space of MIEC before two of the aircraft collided in mid-air.

3. Avionics
- kelengkapan navigasi baru, komunikasi radia secara jaringan data, penyerakkan elektronik termaju, pemasangan sensor optik baru dan sebagainya.

4. Airframe and Aircraft System.
-Jangka hayat kerangka pesawat diperbaiki untuk beroperasi lebih 6000 jam penerbangan tambahan atau 40 tahun operasi. Ia termasuk juga bongol tangki minyak tambahan di badan untuk meningkatkan jarak operasi sebanyak 30% dari jarak asal.

5. Weapon and Combat Capability.
-Penambahan senjata baru dan jenis yang sama mampu dipasangkan pada Su-30MKM termasuklah senjata baru untuk serangan udara ke darat seperti misil dan bom berpandu yang sebelum ini tidak mampu dilakukan.

launch all 4 i guess..then lock on to another 4 targets..
i hope they will upgrade the MiGs engines as well..
no more 'smokey' engines like before and the squadron can't use the name 'Smokey Bandits' anymore afterwards tho

The radar forms part of the MiG-29SMT upgrade, the Zhuk-ME finding success on export MiG-29 aircraft to countries like India. The radar features improved signal processing and has a detection range of up to 120 km vs a 5 m2 RCS target for the export variant, and up to 10 targets tracked and up to 4 attacked at once in air-to-air mode.[5] The tracking range is 0.83 - 0.85 of the detection range. In air-to-surface mode the radar can detect a tank from up to 25 km away and a bridge from 120 km away, a naval destroyer could be detected up to 300 km away and up to two surface targets can be tracked at once. The radar has a weight of 220 kg and a scanning area of +/- 85 degrees in azimuth and +56/-40 degrees in elevation. The antenna is an electronically scanned slotted planar array and has a diameter of 624 mm.

Jokowi meets TNI, police on possible budget increase

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo held a meeting with the Indonesian Military (TNI) and the National Police on Tuesday with regard to the modernization of the two institutions, and the possibility of a defense-budget increase.

Those present during the meeting included Vice President Jusuf Kalla, Law and Human Rights Minister Yasonna H Laoly, Coordinating Political, Legal and Security Affairs Minister Tedjo Edhi Purdijatno, TNI chief Gen. Moeldoko, acting National Police chief Comr. Gen. Badrodin Haiti, Cabinet Secretary Andi Widjajanto and State Secretary Pratikno.

“[The President] will discuss the possibility of increasing defense spending from Rp 102 trillion [US$7.7 billion] to Rp 200 trillion by 2017, if the economy has grown by 7 percent [by then],” said Andi on Tuesday as quoted by Antara news agency.

After the meeting, Moeldoko said that the meeting was also held because the head of state wanted to get to know more about the military headquarters staff.

Before the beginning of his presidency, Jokowi said the Defense Ministry would be the largest recipient of state funds, as outlined in the 2015 draft state budget, with around Rp 95 trillion allocated. (dyl/nfo)(++++)
