Ok, here is the input on mig29nm.

Proposed by Airod and Malaysia's Sukhoi Technical Centre.
- airframe will have be extended 6000 hours from the current 4000 hours. So we could be seeing 2000 hours left in the airframes.
- cft will be add on the aircraft’s dorsal spine aft of the cockpit. 30% increase in combat radius.
- radar, cockpit and avionics will be replace with latest.
- The work would be done in Malaysia under licence from RAC MiG.

strange, i remember (malaysiaflyingherald) in report for Mig29 on 2012 which mig29 on going overhaul on 2000 hrs so can use for other 2 year until 2015, than receive first Mig29 achieve 2000 hrs certificate. now so fast already 4000 hrs clock airframe? hmm.gif

well new engine assume RD-33MK price already close to usd 3 million each x 2 already 6 million.
but newest RD-33MK engine will have 4000 hrs lifespan, than use for 2000 hrs in Mig29N seems a bit waste, unless can re-sell it. laugh.gif
also all new parts and system just use for 2000 hrs look waste too.

more than that, have pay to remove russian system and install western one
and redo the ship system for our harsh tropical climate
unless France going to offer Mistral on cost price and redo the whole system for us FREE, I bet even TLDM wont officers will be interested
Penat buat proposal then kena reject
*
offcouse if we want to buy, remove russia system not our cost and reno cost.
DCNS should sell as standard new ship price. this more logic.
wrigth simple proposel, than arange big navy boss talk to PM first to show interest first. if PM give green light, than can more deep negotiation with DCNS

yep, but usually military payment divided to few year, for this case discuss with DCNS for 5 year installment term should be fine. but need make first payment should be about euro 200 million for first deposit.
but i think Gov also think yearly cost to operate Mistral too. i heard each month need usd few million operation cost.

Buying is one, maintaining it is another brows.gif

I prefer a smaller version of mistral or dokdo ( cheaper to buy and maintain, plus smaller crew requirements), as long it a full flat top. Look cool laugh.gif

Then again, begger cant be choosy

too full size for us... need a smaller and cheaper to operate platform

for me, i ok with both mistral or dokdo, as long it flat top brows.gif
But if talking about cost, i think south korea can offer a cheaper bargain mainly due to their ship building industry

cheapest.. sure is china lah. That one no need to argue

dokdo for south korea navy, ppl say a white elephant ad, remain docked most of the time.

We can't afford that mistral class not because of debts but mainly operation cost.
Not to mention we need to buy some escort ship to protect it.
for now we should think about getting 3 lst or 2 ldp.

Probably we will be seeing 16cell a35.
For future hard to say if needed longer range missile they will just use the extra space allocated for future upgrade.

that china ship electric power not enough to run seafire radar .... need at lease 4000+ tons (cut down version) with good ship engine, best with 6000 tons frigate.

RM150 Million budget authorized for the Malaysian Fire Department to buy new heavy helicopters

user posted image
QUOTE
The Malaysian government has authorized a RM150 Million budget for the Malaysian Fire Department to buy new helicopters for its air fleet. The planned helicopter purchase will be in line with the planned future plan of the Fire Department. The Fire department is interested in seeking more heavy multirole helicopters to help expand its rapid response capabilities. Meanwhile, the Russian export firm Rosobonexport is said to have already started negotiations with the Fire Department on possibly supplying more Mi-171 helicopters.

On a related note, 2 Mi-17 helicopters have been transferred to Miri Fire Department to to help deal with haze and bush fires that may possibly spring up due to the current hot & dry weather.

Wonder how many Mi-171 helicopters RM150 Million can get? hmm.gif

The Malaysia's Sukhoi Technical Centre will be doing the upgrade for the MiG-29? Under license from RAC MiG?
