Thinking of diy... haha.. but still under warranty.. oh well might need to source locally. Prices from amazon too tempting.

I'm a DIY type person too.. However, I've done extensive reading and seen videos, all showing that opening up and closing this laptop is a real pain. You have to get in from the top, removing the keyboard, etc.. Can I risk it? Sure, but it's not worth it, at least to me. You might have better hardware tearing and building skills than I, so go ahead..? smile.gif

How do you guys take care of the palm rest area? The rubberized texture gets dirty easily. Don't want it to fade and look ugly lol.

Been a Acer V Nitro user for 1year+. It have been a good laptop but the temperature problem is giving me headace. Even running all full fan speed, im getting 90+/95C CPU temp even with intel turbo boost off.

Furthemore, the battery life is killing me.

I've been using it with a 1080p Samsung TV (95% of the time). I haven't noticed any lagging, however the display resolution is set at 1360 x 768 (recommended) instead of 1920 x 1080. Upon switching to full 1080p, the image colors and sizing is messed up.. Also loses clarity. Granted, this is expected as its a much older Samsung TV set and not a proper monitor. Using a dedicated monitor via HDMI (up to 2K res) shouldn't pose any issues.

Top up RM500-600 to get skylake-based laptop would be better if you can.

Techhypermart is currently having sales on laptops. Check this out, Dell Inspiron 15 7559, which uses i7-6700HQ with just RM 4149

For me cooling pad is quite useless haha. If you really want a cooling pad, normal one would do the job
