Reports say 2 Ukraine Air Force Su-24 shot down near Debaltsevo
![]() MT-LB with Novorossya flag armed with Strela SAM system Unconfirmed reports say 2 Ukrainian Air Force Su-24 'Frogfoot' ground attack planes were shot down yesterday after attempting to attack the pro-Russian separatist positions encircling Debaltsevo. The losses would undoubtedly be a major loss for the Ukraine government forces. Military experts say the pro-Russian separatists have, with Russian materiel and technical support, established a relatively comprehensive anti-aircraft 'umbrella' over much of the important and strategic locations in the DNR and LNR. Experts speculate the introduction of increased numbers of Buk M1 medium-range SAM and Igla short-range missiles from Russia have turned the airspace over the DNR and LNR as a "virtual no-fly zone". |

QUOTE(KYPMbangi @ Feb 6 2015, 11:04 PM) Ukraine is losing both air and ground battles, pro-russian rebels is now even supported with panstir system A bit suspicious, Pantsir seems too advanced to be supplied to ukraine separatists. It's akin to supplying them the latest T-90 tanks instead of T-64 made in the 1970s. It would be too obvious to deny or ignore, instead of supplying them older systems to maintain 'plausible deniability' i.e "They were captured from ukraine government armory".Latest map of separatist gains. Looks like separatists have recaptured most of the area they initially controlled after being pushed out of many areas in June/July 2014. Note the winter offensives also gaining much territories the coastal southeastern regions, with mariupol being the main prize, possibly indicating separatists trying to capture major ports that might be used to receive seaborne supplies from Russia in addition to the shared land borders. ![]() This post has been edited by MilitaryMadness: Feb 6 2015, 11:36 PM |

Not a secret anymore that the separatist were backed by the russia after all, ukraine's one and only best chance to hold their territory is to join nato or receive anonymous backing by nato at leastLatest map of separatist gains. Already reported that Russia knows Ukraine ECM for the fighter aircrafts and the US does not want to supply western ECM due to worry of it falling into Russia hands.

Rather than ill-equipped i much prefer to say those Sand Army nations doesn't have spirit and gut to bear the casualties to win the war quite contrary with some Asiatic Nations like Vietnam, China, Japan and Korean. Iraq in 1991 have the largest armies backing up with the most modern equipment in Middle East, with more than 4000 MBTs, 2000 IFV, 600 jet fighter and more than 1 million armies.
I think, European and American know better about Ivan and their stubbornness, beside their modern equipment Ivan sure have the gut to spill the blood till the last person. |

Iraq in 1991 have the largest armies backing up with the most modern equipment in Middle East, with more than 4000 MBTs, 2000 IFV, 600 jet fighter and more than 1 million armies. That's just what written on paper, in reality Iraqi army was already utterly spent and was bankrupted fighting Iran from 1980 until 1988 with millions of casualties in personnel and gear. Indeed this was exactly the reason it went to invade Kuwait 1990, to seize the oil supplies and relieving the breaking economy. The Iraqi army in 1990 during Desert Storm was a brand new army composed of raw recruits and reluctant conscripts. The equipment may be numerous and brand new, but seasoned and experienced soldiers needed to operate them were mostly already dead or demoralized after 8 years of war. Even the US initially predicted a grim picture of the predicted high US casualties in view of the large numbers of Iraqi personnel and armored vehicles, with the quick collapse of the Iraqi military even surprising US military planners. |

Basically, US want to enter ukraine to get as close as to russian backyardEU does not want to play that game but US went ahead and now things got so out of hand that US just want to wash their hand and EU have to bare it |
