Funny, Israel usually is quick to respond to any semblance of anti-semitism (real or imagined).

Rather than ill-equipped i much prefer to say those Sand Army nations doesn't have spirit and gut to bear the casualties to win the war quite contrary with some Asiatic Nations like Vietnam, China, Japan and Korean. Iraq in 1991 have the largest armies backing up with the most modern equipment in Middle East, with more than 4000 MBTs, 2000 IFV, 600 jet fighter and more than 1 million armies.

I think, European and American  know better about Ivan and their stubbornness, beside their modern equipment Ivan sure have the gut to spill the blood till the last person.

low moral and no reason to fight... strong countries are back by strong gov and believe whether it comes from brainwashing or an ideal.. iraq also have sectarian divide... iran worships ayatollah, north korea with kim... as for vietnam, it wasnt really an ideology war unlike in china's civil war... it was viewed as a foreign invasion

QUOTE(thpace @ Feb 7 2015, 12:04 AM)
russian is not happy because US is the main culprit for the ukraine unrest and wanted to join EU. Basically, US want to enter ukraine to get as close as to russian backyard

EU does not want to play that game but US went ahead and now things got so out of hand that US just want to wash their hand and EU have to bare it
*
i think the agreement was US to leave former warsaw nations n bordering countries alone.. instead US want to build d missile shield at russia's backyard... it would be the same as the cuban missile crisis

What for? might as well buy the wedge tail.
The cheapest platform for erieye would be atr72 or we can go for slightly expensive g650 or bombardier global express.
All three above have their platform modified for military usage.
Though it was not g650 but g550 was modified to be aew by israel.

A319 Erieye just only one of solution ...other jet also can if meet spec.. and it taking many consideration, A319 best solution for Erieye..
ATR72 just like C-295, it have top wings than block much Erieye radar, than have to mount radar very high......
g650 and bombardier global express. have payload limitation, it only have 3 tons or less payload, event 340AEW also have 10% more payload than this 2 jet, if they hard to fit it, it maybe only can 2-3 console, means capability reduce. Saab2000/EMB145 have more than 5 tons payload.
Erieye radar it self already 1.3 tons weight and 9.7 meter length
unlike G550 just mount radar at airframe for 2 side. much lighter than Erieye Radar.

user posted image

QUOTE
According to russian media, Russian Helicopters JSC is developing a 5th generation stealth helicopter.

“Two of the major designing offices in the country, Mil and Kamov have two different versions of it: Mil is proposing an one-rotor craft while Kamov a two-rotor version”, commented Mr. Shibitov (Executive Counselor).

While details have not been made public, the general requirements by the military are estimated to be the following:

-lightness

-quiet

-low observability

-two pilots (tandem configuration, possibly)

-long range

-intelligent weapon control system

-fighting against aircrafts

-max speed of 500-600 km/h

-ground analysis systems for trails of passing vehicles or troops

-artificial intelligence

that 900kg is scaled down version of Saab's Erieye, only about close to 8 meter radar, it install in small plane ike Saab340 AEW.... detection range only 300km... offcouse it can install in G550/650/BGE. but we want more to full version with 9.7 meter radar so can get more detection range.
affcouse, it up to engineer to calculate the payload, fitting to airframe, power system and plane capability. if can fit, all welcome.
mindef just have come out AEW project, ask aircraft manufacture propose there product to fit Erieye (if Erieye is fix), set mini spec like endurance range and hours/fuel consumption/maintenance packages
finally still up to Mindef to think budget/operation/logistic detail.

Anoa Rising ?

Marhalim Abas
February 7, 2015

SHAH ALAM: IN my report on the IndoDefence 2014 in November, I mentioned that “according to a report by Jakarta Post, PT Pindad officials claimed that Malaysia had bought 32 Anoa APCs from them.

The Post story stated that deal was on hold due to Malaysia’s insistence that part of the procurement be paid partly through a barter trade involving Proton made cars.

Late last year, an industry source told me that an LOI to procure the Anoas had indeed been issued to Pindad several years ago. But even this source was unable to say when the deal will be finalised.

Today (Feb 7, 2015), that mystery is answered, sort off following the visit of Indonesian President Joko Widodo. As reported by The Star newspaper:

“Proton Holdings Bhd has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to develop and manufacture an Indonesian national car.

The MoU was signed between Proton and its Indonesian partner, PT Adiperkasa Citra Lestari, at a ceremony at the Proton Centre of Exellence here yesterday

The signing of the MoU was witnessed by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, Proton chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Indonesian President Joko Widodo.” The full story here

I know I am assuming too much here but it pretty looked like “National Interest” card is being played out. And as usual it is the Malaysian Armed Forces that will have to carry the burden.

If the statement made by the Pindad officials as reported by Jakarta Post is true, the MOU signing with Proton yesterday probably will lead the way to the final contract.

In the 90s, a similar deal involving Proton was inked with Indonesia (Proton cars for SME Aerotiga trainer aircraft) though it did not translate into any meaningful business relationship between both countries. Indeed the export version of the Aerotiga aircraft ended up with the RMAF instead with only a small number of Proton cars actually exported to indonesia.

Apart from the Anoas, it is also likely that if we choose to fund MPAs in RMK11, we will be ordering CN235s from Indonesian Aerospace, formerly known as IPTN. The siX 235s already in service with RMAF were also manufactured by IAE.

Believe it or not, those Arab leaders deliberately keep their army in that condition. They are more afraid of a military coup than a foreign invasion. Rumor has it, the reason Sadat was assassinated was because he sabotaged his own army in 1972 war. He was jealous that the Generals gain more popularity than he is.

thus the reason why they have the revolutionary/republican guard. they answer directly to the prez/king and his families and their sole purpose is to keep them in power,so they tend to be better armed, better paid and more fanatic than the average grunt

it's basically a similar model to waffen SS in nazi deutchland

Is he man, myth, or legend? We don’t know, but what we do know is that Jordan’s King Abdullah is a former commander of Jordan’s Special Forces, an airborne jump master, and a certified Cobra attack helicopter pilot.

King Abdullah even served in the British Army’s 13th/18th Royal Hussars (Queen Mary’s Own) as a reconnaissance troop leader after attending the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst in the UK.

King Abdullah even tried the diplomacy route with ISIS, offering a deal to trade prisoners for their captured fighter pilot Lt. Moaz Kasasbeh. That’s when the ISIS rats made their next big mistake and burned him alive.

Jordan immediately responded to the savage execution by executing two Iraqi militants that ISIS wanted released. It is expected that Jordan will execute four more prisoners in the coming days.

King Abdullah also declared a “relentless war” against the Islamic State and immediately began carrying out airstrikes against ISIS targets. The Jordanians vowed to immensely increase their involvement in the US-led coalition, and it won’t be limited to just airstrikes.

Jordan has a superior Special Forces program capable of conducting all manner of ops across the region, and their operatives are undoubtedly licking their lips in anticipation for the “earth-shattering” justice they are about to exact.

ISIS may have gone all-in, but the house always wins. ~Will

Oh yeah, He’s got a smokin’ hot wife too.
