How much is your down payment?
I'm undecided whether to go for 9 years with min down payment or 5 years with 40k down payment.. (never mind the interest)
*

if 0% interest u will definitely wanna drag as long as u can... however if got interest your would want to keep the loan duration to a minimum. laugh.gif

If you can afford the 40k down payment and the monthly repayment, that will be more worthy for you. hmm.gif

40k downpayment might as well do 7years, rather than 9 years. if you can have a good cash flow then 5 years. I did a 35k downpayment with 7 years.

this is more on my personal issue..

I'm abt 70% loan. i still go for 9 years. I know some will say that is not worth it. Hmmm.. well.. decided.. will just stick to it cause i wish to have more cash flow on hand for other thing in future.

0% interest definitely not from bank. I got mine via company as it's my company benefit for 1st time buying car via company loan. biggrin.gif
for me downpayment 30k repayment 808 per month.

Then for your case you need to evaluate yourself which is more important. My personal advice is never take longer than 7 years for car loan cuz cars don't really last that long. On the 5th year usually you will need to change macam macam that can cost u an arm or leg in order for ur car to keep moving. sweat.gif

simple checklist

1. any investment of 40k can give you higher return than your hire purchase interest rate?
2. if you have home loan, you could save more than 2% on the interest if you pay it first, give more priority to repay the higher interest loan.
3. else just pay 40k for 5 years loan or less

Hack as in? Tamper the wire and start the engine to drive away? I think with immobilizer is not that easy although maybe somewhere out there someone might have the knowledge or tool to do so.. we will never know.

Extra safety issue is always a plus point.. get a auto lock.

Jim.tan Im planning to install auto-lock, can share which place to do it?

Just collected my Mazda 2 White unit today... smile.gif

As far as my calculation over the price after GST, I conclude that the car price will up a few K

10% Sales Tax, change to 6% GST, and 6% (bonus part, Bermaz will be able to off set the 6% since the 6% are intentionally to charge on consumer).

The 10% sales tax calculated from your (car base price + 75% Tax),

price with 10% RM 42K + 4.2K (10%) = 46.2K
Price with 6% RM 42K + 2.25K (6%) = 44.52K

Pre-GST product cost RM 46.2k
Post-GST product cost RM 44.52K - 2.25K (6%) = 42K
- The reason we -6% is because the company able to claim (off-set), 6% is set to bear by consumer.

From the logic calculation, car price should drop by 4.2K if company willing to off-set the 6%

Current Pre-GST Mazda 2 Price : 78.8k + 6K = 84.8k
Prediction 1. Post-GST Mazda 2 Price : 72K + 6K = 78K + 6% = +-82.68K (different by -2.12K)
Prediction 2. Post-GST Mazda 2 Price : 76K + 6K = 82K + 6% = +-86.92K (different by +2.12K)

Conclusion, I predict is either cheaper 2k or expensive extra 2k.. what you guys thinks?
