I have a question regarding the MZD connect. Any1 knows if it's possible to somehow screen cast to the 7" screen from smartphone or tablet?? Like a hidden HDMI input or something? Didn't notice any HDMI input during test drive.

Means they are forcing people to buy that stupid RM1200 SD card just for navigation...

My SA told me it's actually for the license Tom Tom navigation app. Some region use Nokia Here. 0___o

If only it has some way to cast screen den it will be perfect liao.

I booked red sedan, pending company loan approval. From what I understand Mazda standard waiting time is 1-3 months depending on stock availability and batch prior to loan approval. If the showroom got secure additional stock den your waiting time will be cut short and just need to wait for JPJ registration, insurance, tinting and glass coating (roughly 1-2 weeks total).

So basically, the RM500 booking fee is lebih 1...

Den I'd probably struggle to find a place to mount my phone as well. Maybe need to get the flexible long arm and kiap somewhere.

Depends on where and how. Need to trial and error. The length can be shorten by twisting into spring. Will try and post result after get the car.

Yup... deswai must twist lidat but I will add a few more additional twist to make it a bit harder. I more worried about the clamp.

After driving my wife's 2014 Myvi with projector I somehow cnt accept reflector lights on newer cars liao...

the headlight not smoked?

from my experience with other cars even Honda Accord 2.0 reflector headlights cannot match normal halogen projector (yellow light) let alone LED or HID projectors. Will need those who are already driving the M2 to comment further on the brightness compared to projector.

retrofit or replace headlamp sure void original warranty for the original headlamp 1. But the replacement should have some sort of warranty terms.


The entire lamp (like eagle eyes) sure don't have yet. Retrofit means swap out the reflector part from the headlight casing and replace with projector.

I just hope such a mod have no legal issue. Not planning to put in color (other than white or halogen yellow) CCFL or bar lights which are confirm illegal).

Very limited request as most of us buy car at this price range for daily and jam crunching.

Seems like different showroom got different terms for the insurance. I wanna ask those of you who buy insurance (not transfer from your old car), did your SA say compulsory must buy their (Berjaya Sompo) insurance? Or any insurance will do?

Reason I ask is becuz:

1) taking company loan (so bank doesn't matter)

2) I buy insurance from my company got discount

But this SA insist need to buy their insurance.

I suspect also. When I told my SA I will be getting company loan, she also like tarak syok liao. Apparently they get commission from bank loan also.

I got discuss car resale value with my mechanic and other frenz b4 and it seems that resell value is based on ease of maintenance and demand. Not solely on demand and most of them say Mazda spare parts not easy to find but Mazda part reliability can match conti. Hence the price. When you focus on resell value u basically only have 3 brands to choose. T, H and P2. Other brands can forget Liao. Frankly if you are even considering Mazda, chances are you are dead bored with the 3 brands and prioritize driving experience.

Guess I should hunt for projects that enables the MZD connect to get feeds from Google Maps or Waze.

It would save us so much hassle if they have WIDI screen cast or MirrorLink.

Assuming you are comparing full spec City with M2 Sedan, I tested a Honda City that belongs to my colleague. Space width actually not much different. It's the roof height that makes the M2 feels smaller (my personal perception) and the rear seat angle may be uncomfortable for long journey ride. The boot is the smallest in class by Litre but should be adequate if you are not gonna put in golf bags or wheelchairs. I don't have any kids yet and is looking for an awesome driving experience at this price range. Honda City simply feels dull and boring to me but it is indeed the more practical choice considering the cruise control, 8 speakers, 5 years unlimited mileage warranty with alternate service free labor charge, and biggest boot space for a good family car. But I'm not looking for that yet.

I have asked my mechanic about the maintenance costs of Mazda cars (based on history). I have no way to verify this as I don't frequently look into these prices. Mazda parts is actually quite long lasting so they are more expensive than the other Jap brands. Mazda is like the BMW of Japan. Toyota isn't exactly the cheapest but their spare parts very easy to find. Honda is in between Toyota and Mazda while Nissan parts are the cheapest by the book.

But then, if you buy car now, only Nissan and Mazda are the only 2 Jap brands that give free service (parts and labor included). Toyota lansi dowan give while Honda give free labor only.
