I have a question regarding the MZD connect. Any1 knows if it's possible to somehow screen cast to the 7" screen from smartphone or tablet?? Like a hidden HDMI input or something? Didn't notice any HDMI input during test drive.

QUOTE(terion @ Feb 26 2015, 03:29 PM) dun have this feature bro Means they are forcing people to buy that stupid RM1200 SD card just for navigation... u can refer a few pages back on a Thai M2 that manage to do it, but apparently its quite complicated My SA told me it's actually for the license Tom Tom navigation app. Some region use Nokia Here. 0___o If only it has some way to cast screen den it will be perfect liao. QUOTE(terion @ Feb 26 2015, 03:59 PM) Yeah... I'd imagine that but I'll be using my phone instead so I bought a car mount for it. Perhaps you should get something like this:http://www.ipmart.com.my/main/product/Univ...php?prod=403325 QUOTE(terion @ Feb 26 2015, 04:08 PM) i thought of something, maybe we can compile a list of all of us who book the car when and where and when we actually got it. then other who haven't book can get a sort of rough estimate when theirs will arrived I booked red sedan, pending company loan approval. From what I understand Mazda standard waiting time is 1-3 months depending on stock availability and batch prior to loan approval. If the showroom got secure additional stock den your waiting time will be cut short and just need to wait for JPJ registration, insurance, tinting and glass coating (roughly 1-2 weeks total).Hatchback terion - Mazda (Thrive Glory) Seri Kembangan, booked 23rd Jan 2015, any color, receive car 14th Feb 2015, 2014 Year Model Sedan So basically, the RM500 booking fee is lebih 1... QUOTE(terion @ Feb 26 2015, 04:20 PM) i cant mount it on the windscreen, it will block too much of my view Oh yeah... forgot kena block by HUD and the 7" screen... i could mount it on the dashboard in my prev car but the M2 doesnt have any smooth area there to attach so i opted for the CD slot holder, as u can see a bit of it behind the tablet... Den I'd probably struggle to find a place to mount my phone as well. Maybe need to get the flexible long arm and kiap somewhere. ![]() |

QUOTE(aaron97 @ Feb 27 2015, 09:48 AM) I was just wondering, is the brightness of the headlights in the Mazda 2 dimmer than projector headlights? from my experience with other cars even Honda Accord 2.0 reflector headlights cannot match normal halogen projector (yellow light) let alone LED or HID projectors. Will need those who are already driving the M2 to comment further on the brightness compared to projector. Something like this: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1121656 http://www.satugaprojector.blogspot.com/ This post has been edited by t3chn0m4nc3r: Feb 27 2015, 10:07 AM |

QUOTE(terion @ Feb 27 2015, 11:04 AM) b4 u guys change, pls chk with Mazda if it will void ur headlamp warranty. retrofit or replace headlamp sure void original warranty for the original headlamp 1. But the replacement should have some sort of warranty terms.last time for lancer if u change to HID, no more warranty for the headlights. so had to swap back to halogen to claim. QUOTE(kangarooo @ Feb 27 2015, 11:10 AM) Bro terion.. I ask before. It gonna be void if change the headlamp .. So I decide go for bulb first.. And I believe the projector lamp still not in the market yet.. The entire lamp (like eagle eyes) sure don't have yet. Retrofit means swap out the reflector part from the headlight casing and replace with projector.Like this: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_dPZHoY1yQic/TLDO...projector+1.jpg Just found Howie's retrofit page. Dunno if he still got do or not. https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1366957 I just hope such a mod have no legal issue. Not planning to put in color (other than white or halogen yellow) CCFL or bar lights which are confirm illegal). QUOTE(zero5177 @ Feb 27 2015, 11:40 AM) I hope they will bring in the 6-speed manual variant for this car... been waiting for a 6 speed manual for a long time for B segment sedan... Very limited request as most of us buy car at this price range for daily and jam crunching. This post has been edited by t3chn0m4nc3r: Feb 27 2015, 12:01 PM |

QUOTE(mahcyen @ Feb 27 2015, 03:06 PM) Yea, my SA told me it was compulsory to buy their insurance (Berjaya Sompo). Reason I ask is becuz:But in actual fact, it is not compulsory, you are free to purchase your own insurance. Just that you will get lesser loan from bank because the insurance fee will not be included in the car price. 1) taking company loan (so bank doesn't matter) 2) I buy insurance from my company got discount But this SA insist need to buy their insurance. |

QUOTE(mahcyen @ Feb 27 2015, 03:43 PM) I think maybe they got commission for the insurance (but SA told me they do not get commission, is just company policy). But funny thing is, in the end he allow me to do so. Haha. I suspect also. When I told my SA I will be getting company loan, she also like tarak syok liao. Apparently they get commission from bank loan also. Anyways... Not sure if I slowpoke but I found this: http://www.rakuten.com.my/shop/asiabodykit/product/0089/ |

QUOTE(terion @ Feb 27 2015, 04:25 PM) can ask 1st. Some rear bumper include fake exhaust 1. Not sure this is real or not. QUOTE(pizzy @ Feb 28 2015, 03:32 PM) agreed, resale value depend on the demand I got discuss car resale value with my mechanic and other frenz b4 and it seems that resell value is based on ease of maintenance and demand. Not solely on demand and most of them say Mazda spare parts not easy to find but Mazda part reliability can match conti. Hence the price. When you focus on resell value u basically only have 3 brands to choose. T, H and P2. Other brands can forget Liao. Frankly if you are even considering Mazda, chances are you are dead bored with the 3 brands and prioritize driving experience.as we can see a lot of mazda cx-5 otr now, the resale value will be higher as well |

QUOTE(chinlail @ Mar 2 2015, 10:19 AM) I think this Connected Services is on top of the $1200 Bermaz charge us. Can anyone verify if they got Live Traffic free? Or they're still in trial period? Now that I read it again, it makes more sense this "Connected Services" is on top of the RM1200 Bermaz charge us. :/Guess I should hunt for projects that enables the MZD connect to get feeds from Google Maps or Waze. It would save us so much hassle if they have WIDI screen cast or MirrorLink. |

QUOTE(Shirleykame @ Mar 2 2015, 10:52 AM) has any owner here test drove the city but still choose M2? can share me your exp? im struggling to get get this or the city..the younger me lean towards the M2 but practical side of ask me to go to city.. how is the maintenance for M2 compare to the city? Assuming you are comparing full spec City with M2 Sedan, I tested a Honda City that belongs to my colleague. Space width actually not much different. It's the roof height that makes the M2 feels smaller (my personal perception) and the rear seat angle may be uncomfortable for long journey ride. The boot is the smallest in class by Litre but should be adequate if you are not gonna put in golf bags or wheelchairs. I don't have any kids yet and is looking for an awesome driving experience at this price range. Honda City simply feels dull and boring to me but it is indeed the more practical choice considering the cruise control, 8 speakers, 5 years unlimited mileage warranty with alternate service free labor charge, and biggest boot space for a good family car. But I'm not looking for that yet. This post has been edited by t3chn0m4nc3r: Mar 2 2015, 12:04 PM |

QUOTE(GNR @ Mar 2 2015, 12:04 PM) Doubt anyone knows the maintenance cost now as all M2 comes with free maintenance for 3 years, but it is expected to be slightly more expensive than Toyota and Honda. In any case, it is still a Jap car not a Conti car so it shouldn't blow a hole in your wallet if you can afford the price of the car. I have asked my mechanic about the maintenance costs of Mazda cars (based on history). I have no way to verify this as I don't frequently look into these prices. Mazda parts is actually quite long lasting so they are more expensive than the other Jap brands. Mazda is like the BMW of Japan. Toyota isn't exactly the cheapest but their spare parts very easy to find. Honda is in between Toyota and Mazda while Nissan parts are the cheapest by the book. April?? GST leh... Must not come in April. But then, if you buy car now, only Nissan and Mazda are the only 2 Jap brands that give free service (parts and labor included). Toyota lansi dowan give while Honda give free labor only. |
