Hie guys, I'm planning to go Osaka on February with my gf for about 5-7 days.. I never been to Japan before so do you think I should stay in Osaka or should I travel to nearby cities around Osaka ? My trip is a low budget trip so if anyone have any cheap motel to intro? What's the average cost of a meal in Osaka?

Osaka is near to Kyoto/Nara/Kobe if you want to spend away from osaka. Y800 can get you a decent meal.

Read your blog for your osaka trip and want to ask some questions.

Would you stay at Kinki Hotel Osaka again? Is it easy to walk from Osaka station to the hotel?

QUOTE
We decided to spend the day at Universal Studios Osaka. One tip for buying tickets is not to buy them at the park, but instead to buy at the JR Midori ticket counter at the Osaka station.

Do they accept credit card for the USJ ticket at JR Midori?

Probably not. That time just 1 month after merrid so no budget, not yet recover from wedding costs, so cari really cheap hotel. For the price, the hotel is good - except for the location which is a bit far from Osaka station (it's totally walkable in normal scenario, but for 1st day when you trying to find it while dragging big luggage ... not so pleasant).

This coming October my planned trip overall hotel costs about ~rm500/room/night on average (mostly skewed higher cos of the few nights I'm staying in ryokan/onsen).

Minus shopping and flight cost, RM3000 would be able to cover budget/mid range accommodation, normal train/bus, meals for 2 pax.

Rm3k Budget after minus air ticket , transpotation , Hotel. Left very few....plus 2 pax.
100% no shopping for you. No expensive limited edition souvenir. No famous delicious food for you.

Totally cannot compare China to Japan.
In China you can get a bowl of noddle just for 3 - 5 Yuan // Rm3
in Japan cheapest a bowl of Beef Don also cost you 400 Yen // Rm11

i did semi budget trip for a week and used about 3.5k

It is possible to cut it down to 2.7k by cutting down on things

That was also inclusive of accommodation and flights la

Think the realistic budget figure for 2 would be 5-6k

3k is exclude air ticket, i saw AA promo only about RM700 from penang to osaka for 1 pax but its in Feb.
as for shopping i doubt i will buy anything in Japan cause things are expansive there, for me its more about enjoying the experience and culture..and of course i would love to take some nice scenery for me to take photo

osaka + surrounding and tokyo

3.5k all inclusive. Minus shopping la. that one is supplementary budget tongue.gif

I think if i am really really determined, even 2.5k is doable but that involve cutting out a lot of paid attractions and eating out at 7-11 la
