Ever since I "drove" the Churchill 3 & AT15a, any vehicle which moving 20 kph is an instant NO-NO to me~ (Japanese heavies is really SLOW)

About the german TD choice, Ferdinand is obvious better choice on papers, better than JPanther 2 as in:

- Armor thickness & distribution & 350 more HP
- view range
- Camo value

While worse in:

- Vehicle hull control & top speed
- terrain/traverse resistance

If I play turretless TD, there are a few things I would like to consider:

1. Gun arc
2. Frontal plating distribution
3. Total HP
4. View range
5. Innate Camo value

Reloacting speed will be my least concern as I always find nearest large cover if I am spotted.

Well you will be surprise to know that japanese heavy aren't that slow, unless you only have the stock engine, if you manage to graind trough the engine while you are on the O-I exp (tier 5) tank then the rest of the three you don't have speed issue, at least for huge tank standard. that is if you are into heavy tank that hits hard and are heavily armored.

I think I have decided to pick jpanter 2 instead, fast, agile, trollish hull down situations. I borrow a friend account to test out both and I feel that ferdinand is a bit more of a mid brawler, and with so many people this days spamming gold if you are seen on a TD its pretty much dead if you can't move away from that spot. Rotating is also slow even though it has a wider angle. where else on the jpanter 2 the rotation is like a decent turret speed even though your arc is pretty limited, the speed is amazing and I find that actually more players are not aware of jpanter 2's slope armor as I constantly gets hit and bounce on the top part of my tank and quite a lot of bounce off gold success, even though its best to avoid getting shot at. I might graind out the ferdi with my jpanter as well but in terms of progression I feel that jpanter 2 is more fun then ferdi, most likely because jpanter 2 was fast and I'm pretty decent at jpanter style at this point.

Just got my Alpine tiger... gosh it is super face-hugger... can go for pushing match with other Tier 9 heavies...

Any equip and crew advice for Alpine tiger?

I am thinking putting 1 of the female crew into CHINA tank line, but so far no further plan to expand the tank line...

yea I rake up 500k in about 15 match or so with another teammate, this tank is aggressively scary as you can bait shots and easily rake in 2k above block dmg, return fire on average can hit 1k ...... I recommend the rammer and maybe stabilizer ..... the third one depends on your play style, if you are always on the front line coated optics give you a better 1st spot advantage. Since now all equipment is on discount if you have tight credit budget get the rammer first, most important, shoot 10% faster.

Crew go all on repair, a station tiger is a dead tiger, after all crew 100% repair my 2nd recommendation is brothers in arms, better performance more efficient. after BiA maybe then only get 6 sense and other perk for different crew like snap shot, less terrian resistance, safe stoage etc ..... those are last in my experience since you will always be fighting in close quarters anything that require you to camp or hide or stationary to be effective will not help you jump on enemy much.

in terms of female crew I don't think that's a good idea, once recruited it will only usable to that nation and will not be able to go any other nation. Stick with their crew, they are already 100% by default.

In terms of how you play the tiger in my opinion you have the highest chance to influence the winning or loosing of the battle, even if its just two tiger ...... me and the other teammate constantly go to place that is popular for light tank and medium tank, since your tiger got the speed its easy to reach those point and meet the lights / mt head on, many will panic because their gun even on tier 9 can't pen you easy, only a few tanks could rely on their gun. Catch them off guard and the whole enemy team will loose, because when the light tank and medium is distracted no one is going to spot, then spg and TD will get distracted, leaving HT alone to fend for themselves.

If you meet another tiger and you don't want to waste money try use HE shells to track them, then rush to the side or rear and pump some shots. The front and even the bottom of the tank is only a 50% chance pen most of the time.

So far I think this is the best gift WoT had given, at least reachable missions for average joe veteran.

In comparison of SK-G:

Charioteer on papers => I feel it is a long range sniper with high speed rounds (better shell PEN/velocity/camo values/mobility, but worse accuracy, still can compete due to Gun depression & APCR shells)

Conway on papers => Entry peek-kaboom type (Additional 110 damage but in a severe expenses of all gun-handling stats, only better in HP/mobility/view range). half-baked capability on peekaboom & mid range support, but master neither both.

FV4005 => sacrifice everything for good mobility and great gun in peekaboom~, Basically is tier X version of KV-2/SU100Y.

Playing charioteer under premium account I am still ok not to skip it...

but Conway 0.36 dispersion + 850 shell velocity... maybe test server experience may prove me wrong...

SK-G 0.29 dispersion really can get tons of kills, and its 1 of the reason it keep rolling in the silvers.~

Yes, it is normal. Adjust your lead when aiming at moving targets to compensate for latency.

Tested so far overall I din have much problem on driving Challenger/Charioteer and Conway though...

Since This mid-week discount is good for re-training crews, I shall start on Challenger on last day of the offer...(based on my current available free XP)

Finally. First win in AT15. After 4 games. This is really a WTF tank at stock... A tier 8 TD with a Tier 7 stock gun. You can't change the gun due to suspension load limit and the suspension needs almost 15k of experience points to unlock.. and from 4 games I've played, not many Tier 7 tanks available to feed on. Most I encounter is Tier 9 and 8.

Rule of thumb for me:

1. Find the tank I am interested
2. Check wiki for anything need to take note when upgrading module
3. Free XP those important module.
4. Free XP the top gun.

Ever since I get Alpine tiger... I feel so soothing cause able to channel my aggressive-ness

1 fight 4 tanks, 1 of the earlier deaths, but able to get top 3 EXP earned...

AT15 is still okay, after top gun upgrade... still can fight back... but not AT15a premium tank... its speed is terrible, but gun even worse...

So far tested Alpine Tiger for a couple of battles:

Free Premium tanks => Average performance or below (as expected)

The good:
- Decent speed (Off road is a must, and clutch braking should improve its hull turning for quite a bit for flanking/anti-flanking)
- Decent upper plate and great front turret armor, able to face-hug with defender with very little chance to being PEN-thru
- As long as u can keep its lower plate hidden/angling by obstacle/dancing, upper hull plate can only be PENNED frontally by 200 pen or above to reach your ammo rack (means no angling, side scraping is more practical)
- by using side slopes & exposing only the turret and peek outside... U can enjoy tons of bouncing hits sound on your oval-shaped turret
- having 1 of the best camo for among all HTs (camo + repair + BIA is applicable to this tank)
- Will never facing Tier 10 (Tier 9 is hellish enough for this tank's pitiful 250 HEAT PEN)

The bad:
- The gun is limited to facehugging & melee brawling only, due to its bad accuracy, personally feel no point to use VSTAB to compensate it.
- AP shell penentration only 175, you can only bully most MTs/LTs/TDs except Pershings
- 250 PEN Gold rounds is 5600 silvers, this means, you gain NO silver profits if you take this tank against tier 7 & 8 HTs with HEAT gold rounds.
- can get ammo-racked easily without Wet Ammo Rack equipment, Safe Stowage + Wet Rack is highly recommended.

How I view/feel/suggest about this heavy tank:

1. fight HTs => no silver profits, fight MTs/TDs = they use gold rounds against you, pick your path, both are equally hellish

2. Vehicle handling > Camo > Gun handling => For maneuver/flanking against MTs/LTs/TDs, Gun handing improvement is quite pointless IF you are using AP rounds & using HEAT shells on MTs quite wasteful

3. This tank able to take many hits from multiple tanks when reversing into S line & with decent speed can really RAM well when face hugging. Consider putting vehicle impact if you want to rush and facehugging effectively.

Again I must remind this point again:

Alpine Tiger is a frontline support/ flankers
vs HTs with HEAT shells => no silvers
vs MTs with AP rounds => silver profits but got risk being PENNED blindly.

Equipments: Rammers/VSTAB/WetRack/Optics/Vents/Enhanced suspension(side scraping)/toolbox

haha added to my post.

After these tries, I can confirm using AP ammo with this gun is super pitiful & crying accuracy & I am looking for another way to earn better silvers.

Next trials will be on its suspension and vehicle control:

1. Off-road + clutch braking, Sixth sense + BIA, rest all repairs
2. Rammer(optional)/Enhanced suspension/toolbox/Vents/Wet Rack
3. See how far I can push this tank's speed & traverse for a flanking role.
4. Speed VS track repair speed (need to gauge from Equipments/skills)

Having a decent heavy tank to flank enemies/behind might yield a better outcome?
