Cheaper rates for Internet broadband soon

broadband packages, meanwhile, will start at RM38 a month for 1Mbps speed, which is a 57% reduction from its current price of RM88 a month.

As for high-speed broadband using fibre optics, Ahmad Shabery said a 10Mbps package currently priced at RM199 a month will be reduced to RM179 a month.

The new rates are expected to take effect “in a month or two”, Ahmad Shabery said.

“Affordable Internet rates will allow more people to have access to the Internet in our efforts to become a digital nation.

“Good Internet service and cheap rates will also make the country attractive to foreign investors, and it will also help spur the economy as well as enhance the lives of the people,” he said.

He added that the telco industry should also increase investments to expand infrastructure in order to improve the quality of Internet services.

However, for packages of higher speed and quota, Ahmad Shabery said its rates will be reduced in the future.

What kind of idiot who would subscribe for 94/74 months contract? Unless if they can provide at least 99.7% SLA and QoS.

I think is RM 210.94 and RM 242.74 per month..not 94/74 months contract..

The 50Mbps is tempting and I'm under coverage area for their trial.
But it's close to RM 300 lmao after you add GST.

what the...am a user of RM179 package and even after the price reduction I'm still paying the same price inclusive of GST, that's RM190, better don't cut the price at all

you can take the RM210 package and then upgrade to 50mbps, which means RM263 for 50mbps, just that no dumbo jumbo package, who cares about hypptv anyway

be prepared they will give u the runaround, yes, no, yes, no, maybe...

and given all that gst confusion, i think nothing can happen fast.

but in the end, if all others paying same as you 179+6% have some hypptv pack n u hv none, u do hv a strong case.
