hey guys, i'm thinking of getting either my nose or eyebrow pierced, but i'm hugely hugely afraid of pain.

nose is nothing like ear piercings, right? so they told me. can someone just convince me that nose piercings do not hurt as bad as people say they will?

and would someone be kind enough to recommend a few shops to go to? i don't know if it's okay just to go to any jewellery store to pierce or if i should go to a proper tattoo shop.

nose piercings hurt (skin around that area very thick) - go to proper piercing shops.
throbbing pain lasts an hour onli i think - much better compared to lip piercings.

eyebrow piercings - don't hurt at all. just hard to take care when healing.

nuff said. word.

I have a few questions about ear piercing (on the earlobe) that I need some answering. tongue.gif Kinda new to piercings.

I've read a bit on the Net about ear piercings and I understand that generally it's done with either needle or gun? A lot of people seem to be against using gun.. something about "blunt force trauma" which I didn't understand, and something about guns are not clean because they're not sterilised? (Apparently there are risks of Hepatitis infection through using guns.)

Since those stalls don't look really professional, I plan to do my piercing at Poh Kong or some jewellery shop instead. Generally how much do you reckon it would be to do a earlobe piercing at Poh Kong etc?

Just made an appointment for my 1st tattoo in Borneo Ink today for end of April (fully booked before and after) =.=''

Suprisingly they are doing it for me in sessions. I am very new to this and I have a few questions.

1. Is 1000-1200 for a full side black and white upper arm tattoo (around 8-8.5 inches) expensive? Btw, its a japanese koi with background.
2. Is it necessary t0 ask them about the needles? (I am afraid that they will use used needles).
3. Why is it done in sessions? Is it because it causes less pain ar?
4. Kindly tell me all the stuff i need to ask the artist b4 i get my arm inked. Thx!!

proper piercing shops = tattoo parlors? i've been recommended to the shops in sg wang, but not the tattoo parlors. actually i'm trying to not spend so much on the piercings....kinda broke this month.

Thanks for the replies guys! Guess I'll just do it at the Poh Kong near my house.. I'm a little lazy to find these parlours plus it's just a piercing at one ear anyway. tongue.gif

1)price depends on the design...i suppose jap koi is complicated so its a bit more costly...
2)needles yes...u need to make sure they use new needles...pro tatt artist will show u...
n after tatt, they will break off the needle too
3)i'm not too sure bout the sessions...i think depends on the design oso...dun think it has anythin to do with pain
4)ask them bout the aftercare...n i dunno if u bliv, but sometimes puttin animals as tatt might not be suitable...have to ask around...tigers n dragons are big no-nos to certain ppl...not sure bout fishes...tongue.gif

who did u engage? lina? simon? or eddie?

1. if its ur 1st tattoo with them. i suppose thats the price u have to pay.
2. i get mine done there. u can ask about the needles but i can assure u, they are profesional and they dont use used needles
3. believe me, its done in session cuz its tiring and can u tolerate the pain? everyone has a limit.
4. obviously its ur 1st time. just tell them that its ur 1st time. they will explain to u how to care for ur new tattoo n all.

most importantly, try not to be cocky. if u cant stand the pain.. just say so.. take a break. i've seen lotsa macho wannabes go black out. haha.

Eddie went to the States so Simon is doing it for me. Is Simon good?

Ok I am hoping that the pain is barable. XD

Its pretty pricy right? Its like 400-500 more expensive than anywhere outside.

please dont ever compare price with quality. if price is an issue, then u should just pass on borneo ink.

how detailed is ur koi design? mind showing me a jpeg if u have any? im very close to lina, so i can just drop her a line to see the price ranges.

normally, borneo ink charges 1 ciggie box size for RM200 - RM250. Price may differ according to design n details.
