of course it would, GTX 960 can't even maintain 120fps on dota 2 1080p...

GTX 970 just passed that mark. If you make it 4K then lol

quite disappointed with GTX 970 now cos can't even maintain 60fps with dsr enabled.

i enabled MFAA only
ambient occlusion, FXAA & triple buffering OFF
power management mode adaptive
texture filtering high quality
clamp negative lod bias
anisotropic sample optimization OFF
trilinear optimization OFF

when during intense moments really lag. i expected running consistently at 60fps w/o dropping frames.

imagine playing those fps games, dota 2 can't even handle well so no need to talk bout other demanding games. doh.gif

now i sticking with 1080p with below setting;

FXAA & transparency ON 8x (supersample)
power management mode prefer max performance
texture filtering high performance
anisotropic sample optimization ON
trilinear optimization ON

Andrew “Gibbo” Gibson, purchasing manager at Overclockers UK, said that multiple graphics cards makers decided to support OcUK in terms of accepting returns. In particular, EVGA, Inno3D, KFA2 (formerly Galax), MicroStar International, Palit Microsystems and Zotac have officially confirmed plans to take the graphics cards back.

ah tx.

well.... my 680 gtx kepler 2012 when playing my latest game which was Dragon Age Inquisition using ultra settings, it was unplayable ... fps of 20-30....

on a 60hz 1920x1200 24'' ah-ips lcd monitor, ivy bridge i7 quad core cpu pc gaming rig with 16gb of ddr3 corsair ram sad.gif (cpu and gpu are both water cooled by the way using a radiator with at least 8 fans in my rig)

this is a bummer for me because 20-30 fps at ultra on the latest game kinda sux for a gamer. I'm not even using a ridiculous big size screen or higher than a standard resolution which today is considered norm. That is why i need to update within the next 1-2 years from now urgently sweat.gif

play dota 2 enable DSR 4.00x native resolution 3840 x 2160 with 33% smoothness on my 1080p monitor will cause the game shuttering badly.

dota 2 is not a really demanding game also perform so SUX!

Not sure what you are trying to do:

That's as 60fps smooth as it gets.
Also, you understand that Source engine was never stable on 4k resolution right?

earlier i already saw the vid. come on just one invo spam the skill. different when 5v5. i think u don't play dota so i don't blame u. usually i play dota temperature only 40°c but suddenly hit up 73°c & shuttering with DSR.

lesson learned, no such big head don't wear so big size of helmet again!

Try turn off MFAA? My 7950 rarely drop below 45fps on big team fight and normally hover around 60fps with max ingame setting@4K Gedosato. Overall pretty smooth unless spiking. 970 should do much better.

I play dota lol - http://www.dotabuff.com/players/74030445

Not everyday, but I've played it since the WC3 days.

I have no issues running the game at 1440p with a single card. I also have near zero issues running it at 4k (crashes happen but that's due to the source engine, it happened on L4D2 as well), either natively or through DSR. I have them locked at 72fps (as I OC my monitors to run at 72hz) on my 1440p monitor through a custom script and they stay there without dropping no matter if it's wtf mode 5v5 with 10 CMs spamming her ult. I can run them at 120fps if I want, but because I don't play with vsync (input lag) so I keep them at 72fps.

So, yeah... did you try capping your framerates with a custom startup script for the game? The default is 120fps, but are you even using a 120hz monitor?

One last thing, turn off MFAA. Dota 2 does not use MSAA, so MFAA is useless.

the thing is, a lot of people underestimate MOBAs like LoL or Dota 2, saying they have MMO graphics and look dated laugh.gif
in LoL i get 300-500 fps no problem @ 1080p, while dota 2 is around 100-200 fps @ 1080p
the game changer is during chaotic wtfbbq 5v5 on both games, that's when your PC is brought down to its knees, in dota 2 i sometimes dip below 60 fps and thats when you rage because you don't know what killed you, plus internet lag summore doh.gif
but usually i cap them both with vsync smile.gif

i'm using normal 1080p 60Hz only. maybe MFAA causes the issue. by the way, thanks.
