Those who get 5.7GB forgot about windows AERO is taking a chunk of VRAM in the background as well. |

QUOTE(yaphong @ Jul 1 2015, 06:05 PM) envy v ur monitor. my friend owned on. the brightness is really crispy. 980 with ur monitor really nice. if u use 980Ti i guess will be bottleneck by ur processor. mostly i play FIFA 15. 1080p native can't play smoothly even FIFA requirement is pretty low. bopian i need to play around with DSR 4k to play more better experience. FIFA 15 often freeze inside the box there. EA SPORTS badly optimize.. now i hope future games is optimize nicely before release to us & driver need to optimize too. nvidia need spend more on s/w team rather than releasing 950Ti FYI, those benchmark still not really MAX ULTRA, they turned off some settings there. i don't really trust benchmark. real game play must smooth is the 1st priority. A truly mostrous performance in a truly killer console-obliterating size. Waiting for KLIAV starting this July 3rd for better 4KTV deals. Cheapest around I saw is LG 55" at RM3,8xx but riddled with complaints of poor contrasts. Next step up is Samsung non-curved SUHD at RM6,3xx. |

QUOTE(ngkhanmein @ Jul 1 2015, 07:06 PM) Even if you disable AERO, the basic compositing still take up 100-200Mb of VRAM.Plus google chrome, firefox, safari and internet explorer also uses a bit of VRAM. Not to mention a certain amount of vram also being used to display a image on your screen. If you want to properly run the tool, you need to run it in headless mode. In any case, you dont need to worry about memory segmentation. GTX980Ti doesnt have this issue. All GTX980TI gpu memory controllers are properly linked to active gpu L2 cache. Only SMM units are being disabled this time. GTX970 is unique in a sense that all of its memory controllers are perfectly fine, but one of its memory controller it isnt linked directly to the L2 cache. (Probably a segment of L2 cache is defective). Go read anandtech article on GTX 970 memory segmentation |

One thing we know here is regardless of our GPU hardware, it won't be very useful when we don't get better games - it's absolutely baffling to see that we have games still released in hugely broken and unpolished state despite we get lots of GPU horsepower for cheap.

Palit you will never know. Sometimes they suddenly change a ref pcb to their own design without telling.QUOTE(blackat2113 @ Jul 1 2015, 08:09 PM) Its landed. QUOTE(Minecrafter @ Jul 1 2015, 09:31 PM) Those high-end cards are out of my reach. I'm still running on my R9 280X Sadly, the new 300-series didn't really meet my expectations. Power consumption still a little high for my liking, despite improvements on power efficiency. The Fiji cards are good though, too bad they're out of my budget, hahaha Will see what NVIDIA has under their sleeves with Pascal next year. Exciting times ahead, especially with 2016 being the year of VR. QUOTE(Minecrafter @ Jul 1 2015, 09:34 PM) Yeah, Massive Entertainment got acquired by Ubisoft some years back. They're a PC developer studio so... I'm hoping for the best *fingers crossed*This post has been edited by barbar554: Jul 1 2015, 10:03 PM |

Damn this card is quite a beast even for a reference card But I think the sweetspot would be 1440p pushing to 4k at least need 2 on sli .
