Tell me about it. I have to resort to Amazon to get mine. The same with my first 4K monitor from Asus because they're the non-ROG kind. The upcoming ROG 4K G-Sync one, you need to have insider connection to even be considered a unit.

It's the case of the "lowest common denominator" driving the sales and determining which item to keep stock around here. Everybody's opting for the cheap monitors, resellers and distributors here aren't inclined to stock high end stuff. Just like how I asked around Lowyat Plaza about PCI-E SSD and kept being referred to bog standard boring SSDs. Further explanation of what format of SSD I wanted, the PCI-E kind, got me a blur "I don't know what you're talking about, I'm only selling mainstream stuff" look.

There are high end purchasers. It's just that we are overwhelmed by shitty boring cheapass entry level kind.

Went this route coz lazy wanna go through local waiting list. Went through the same situation last time, and was never guaranteed a unit. Had to wait until the fervor died down before I can even get one, much less three Titans that I needed last time.

The third Titan X is on a separate order.

I'm not willing to go through local reseller as there aren't guarantees that I'll get one or even if I'm in the waiting list I may got shut out by them out of me not being a regular or don't know them well. When it comes to high end purchase with high dollar value, money doesn't hold any sway anymore.

Yesterday's Quad-SLI setup wasn't a reflection of what my rig will become. It's just so happens that we have four Titan Xs in hand yesterday.

This is more like what I will have in my rig once it's complete. Once the EK waterblocks and backplates arrive.

Runs all maxed out on my 980M, including FXAA minus MSAA at 2880x1620. Not gonna play it much until I'm done with MKX. Have a little matchup going with local player(s). I have not even touched my GTAV either.

Something Nvidia related, but not GPU related. Well...depends on how you look at it, it may be GPU related with its Gamestream feature from Nvidia GPUs. tongue.gif

Holy abysmal performance Batman!

Did the Batman Arkham Knight PC Performance Test on my rig, the game is capped at V-Sync? 30fps!!? What's going on Rocksteady?

And it even crashes and froze a couple of time.

Back to Doom 3 on Shield TV until Nvidia/Rocksteady fix this mess! mad.gif

Weird bug. Even with V-Sync off, Maximum still capped at V-Sync? Turning off AA doesn't help one bit. Neither does turning off and V-Sync back again. Haih......

The framerate only automatically uncap itself when you are running the in-game benchmark. It's like a sick joke or something, damn stupid. I have no idea why WB decided to hand the PC version over to High Voltage Studio, the same monkeys who ported the broken MKX on PC.

Editing that now.

Warner Brothers Studios seems to have contract with High Voltage. The MKX debacle took them more than a month to fix. rclxub.gif

Correction on the outsourced studio who did the PC version, it's Iron Galaxy not High Voltage. Iron Galaxy did a great job on Killer Instinct Season 2 for Xbox One, shame they drop the ball on this one.

It removed the framecap but the freezes are still there. sad.gif

Okay, did a couple of troubleshooting runs of my own on the Batman Arkham Knight game:

Case #1. All three Titan Xs on SLI, PhysX auto, Config.ini file untouched = game freeze at police officer entering diner.
Case #2. Disable SLI, running single Titan X, PhysX auto, Config.ini untouched = smooth 30fps, police officer entering diner. One or two dips below to 24fps.
Case #3. Dedicated PhysX to the third Titan X, the other two Titan Xs on 2-way SLI, Config.ini file edited to enable MaxFPS 60fps = game didnt crash at the police officer entering diner, played the smoothest and went as far as capturing Poison Ivy and delivering her to GCPD. Frame rate fluctuated between 31-55fps, with occasional severe fps drop to 12fps during the Batmobile missions.

All three scenarios ran on everything maximum, including turning on all GameWorks settings on, AA off (4K doesn't need AA), and V-Sync OFF (I'm running on G-Sync monitor to smoothen out framerate drops). Case #3 may seem like it has the largest fps fluctuations, but with G-Sync, it compensated. The severe drop to 12fps on Batmobile missions only happened once, probably loading game assets.

Conclusion is I can't ran Tri-SLI on this, only 2-way SLI with dedicated PhysX for the third card. What a mess, Rocksteady!

What I observed also is that when the framerate drops to high 20s (27-29fps) on the game, this game still "feels" smooth, unlike The Witcher 3. Witcher 3 at high 20s feels "jumpy". irregardless on how G-Sync tries to compensate.

The other thing I did is clean install the 353.30 driver. Also the game seems finicky running any form of in-game overlay, be it Steam/Origin, etc. In-game fps counter via Steam automatically froze me at the diner. Nvidia Shadowplay's FPS counter however runs fine.

Nope. Hard drive. The Witcher 3 case isn't minute stutters per se, the game feels like it's "breathing" or something. Feels that way especially apparent when Geralt is on horseback. Hard to explain by words.

I have Witcher 3 on the SSD. But ever since patch 1.04, there has been a lot more texture asset streaming issues. This isn't the normal maps and mipmaps streaming in, but it's the pop-in. Editing the ini to allow for further allowance of these assets to be kept made no difference.

As such, often times Geralt's beard will just appear and dissapear in cutscenes. It's damn immersion breaking lol.

Cant remove GFE, I need it for Gamestream to Shield Pro console connected to TV in living room. But even Gamestream is broken now, login to Nvidia account to enable Gamestream is disabled at the moment. Between this and a messed-up Arkham Knight, I gave up.

I have never used GFE game optimization all this while, the settings it gives may be in the comfort zone, but always too low when my system can be pushed further.

If past history is to be believed, they'll fix it eventually. As in one month late eventually. tongue.gif yup, I felt the same when MKX first came out, but fast forward now, feature and performance parity with the console versions in terms of how it ran.

I'll wait. I don't have a choice: no console in the world run games in 4K.

P/S: "interesting" and "hilarious" development with Fury X benchmarks out. I don't wanna say those 4 words but "I told them so!" The card running out VRAM steam in GTAV and BF4 in almost every embargo-lifted reviews out now is hilarious to say the least. For even funnier is that they marketing it as a 4K card or "overclocker's dream", when it can't even beat the 980Ti running on air while itself is running under water. tongue.gif
