Helping friend build desktop, here are the requirement

[Purpose] medium gaming mainly dota 2, cod, bf & upcoming gta 5

[Hardwares that will be re-use] monitor, mouse, keyboard, speaker

[Monitor resolution] full hd 1080p

[Games & softwares that use frequently] as above

[Personal preferences] if can get a higher power supply so my friend can upgrade the spec in future

[Location] KL

The spec looks fine. You can switch it to R9 270X version at RM629 if adding RM40 is not an issue.

Is there any huge difference between H81M-VG4 with B85M-HDS which price is RM239 ?

No performance difference.

Forget to mention, is there any usb 3.0 port in front of the casing ?
Yet, my friend monitor is using vga & hdmi port, so my friend need to buy the dvi to hdmi connector in order to connect the monitor ?

yup, there's one usb 3.0 at the front i/o panel . No need, just use the hdmi port at the gpu and connect straight to the monitor using hdmi cable.

That better than don't have usb 3.0 port
But also can use dvi to hdmi right ? Because my friend his previous desktop don't have hdmi port, so he buy dvi to hdmi connector in order to plug in the monitor

yeah it should work , but if it doesn't work, you can tell him to buy this

It is better to get B85M-HDS since it has connector for USB 3.0 for front i/o. USB 3.0 on H81M-VG4 is only available at rear i/o.

[Personal preferences] my old laptop are dying now..always lag here and there..720p youtube are bearable but 60fps youtube just imposabble.....i dont have a lot money to buy new laptop..so build new pc is my only option..

Hi,

I have a very limited budget to replace some component of my old CPU.
Which option is better between these 2:

Core i3 4150 3.5 GHz (non-OC)
Asrock H81M-HDS
HyperX Fury 1600 MHz 4GB

*i3 come with hyperthreading (4 thread) but non OC. It can fully utilize the speed of the RAM.

VS

Pentium G3258 3.2 GHz (OC capable)
Asrock H81M-HDS
HyperX Fury 1600 MHz 4GB

*G3258 is capable for OC and i have an after market CPU cooler (means I will OC it for sure). But the speed of the RAM will be max at 1333 MHz.

Of course the G3258 build will be a bit cheaper, but is it worth to spend about RM1++ for i3?

RAM - kingston Value RAM 4GB
led 1600x900 screen

what can i add to improve my gaming experience . this is my first pc that i build. hehe budget pc. p/s not good in English haha

Option 1 still have better value due to increasing number of apps and games utilizing more threads.

The only reason why I got G3258 is I wanna play around with it. Didn't plan to go heavy.

What is your max budget?

sorry about the price. i already build this pc last year. just want to add something to make it better at gaming. budget around 500 to 1000

currently using LG E1942 monitor.
Any suggestion for 1080P monitor? no idea but what is the typical budget?

Add Intel 530 120GB SSD to your build. Should be around RM260. Also, add another 4GB RAM.

Nothing else to improve unless you replace your parts.

Hard to recommend when there is no budget limit. Try Dell E2414H 24" at RM569 from Viewnet.

my old psu died..so it will out of my budget..how about amd..i'm thinking to get amd a6 6400k..

It will be worse than the CPU TristanX suggested and even the Pentiums.

A6-6400K is slower than Pentium G3220.....
