Sorry tristanx, failed to get anything so I went home to survey again. Didn't went to cycom to enquire yet.

I am trying to get everything from the same shop but most of the GPU are sold out.
One of the guy recommended me MSI GTX970 oc for RM 1249 (the only gtx970 model that have stock). Is it a good card or should I try to get the graphic card from other places?
*
The card is decent. I highly suggest updating its bios as it will improve the power limit and help greatly minimize the throttling.

Easier if you go to apes, they sell all the tubings, waterblocks , radiators. And they can assemble it for you.

Ahh thanks for the link

Forget to mention, is there any usb 3.0 port in front of the casing ?
Yet, my friend monitor is using vga & hdmi port, so my friend need to buy the dvi to hdmi connector in order to connect the monitor ?
*
yup, there's one usb 3.0 at the front i/o panel . No need, just use the hdmi port at the gpu and connect straight to the monitor using hdmi cable.

do clicky or ticking sound on gpu gtx 970 is normal?
*
Not normal, usually buzzing sound which inducates a coil whine is happening. You sure its not your hard disk instead that making the sound?

Hey.. there are no stock for Gainward GTX970 4GB GDDR5 and Sapphire R9 280X Tri-X 3GB GDDR5
Hows SAPPHIRE VAPOR-X R9 280X 3GB GDDR5 and MSI R9 290 GAMING 4G 4096MB GDDR5 performs?
*
2 different gpu altogether, the 280X is based on the older tahiti gpu , the HD 7970GHZ with a slight bump of core clock. The R9 290 is the latest and one of the top amd flagship gpu. the 280X vapor should have a good temperature and it comes with a backplate. The R9 290 gaming meanwhile is another decent gpu. But from review the temperature will still creep up into the 80's but it shouldn't throttle like the reference card does. If you're going with 290 series I suggest have a look at either Sapphire Tri-XX cooler or the Vapor-X cooler.

The gtx 970 is another good option despite the memory, performance wise it's equal to the 290X/ gtx 780 smile.gif .

Hey guys,

After all this while I've been buying gaming laptops since I was back in Uni, I've finally had the bloody idea to get an ITX PC or something smaller thna a normal desktop. I'm living with very minimal space.

Just wondering if you guys could help me out.

[Budget] = RM 3.3k (Currently offered to upgrade laptop GPU at this price. Sager laptop bought back in 2013 @ RM 6.5k.)

[Purpose] = Gaming, movies, work

[Hardwares that will be re-use] = Mouse (Logitech G502), SSD (Samsung 850 Pro @ 256GB - primary OS disk),

[Monitor resolution] = Full HD? QHD? Whichever is optimal for the rig that you're suggesting, I do highly prefer full HD.

[Games & softwares that use frequently] = Steam games, GTA 5 (when it is out)

[Personal preferences] = Would it be able to fit 2 HDD? Since I already have 1 SSD that would be re-used, this one might just need another to store stuff. I would need a monitor and keyboard as well.

[Location] = Subang/KL

Thank you very much. smile.gif Compiling suggestions from LYN and Reddit to build this new rig. Although yours with the CM Silencio casing sounds about right.
Wow. Looks good. I'd prefer an Nvidia card for this though. The monitor seems about right, although a bit on the expensive side.

I think a build with a CM Elite 130 is just what I need.
*
You can go with either gtx 960 or a gtx 760. But try finding a reference design card instead because the design is much better at outputting heat from the case.

reference card design is like this

See see parts, match whichever would fit the budget. Not PCMasterRace, in BuildMeAPC. This is making me go crazy again.

So far my parts that I prefer are:

CM Elite 130
Intel Core i5 4460 3.2GHz
Gainward GTX970 4GB GDDR5
WD Caviar Blue 1TB
Asrock H97M-ITX/AC
BenQ GL2460HM
Seasonic M12II Evo 520W 80+ Bronze Fully Modular - I probably chose the wrong one, please correct me.
Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB DDR3 1600MHz

Total of RM 3,532.00.

switch the ram to normal value ram and try find a cheaper mobo icon_rolleyes.gif , normally if you buy bundle from a shop, you can haggle down the price a bit smile.gif

Stretchable to RM 3.7k. LOL! Very... Uhhh... Gonna get scold die for this by the gf but meh... Peace of mind than having a laptop that would cost 1 part worth RM 3.2k.

So looking at other threads and various other posts by you and others, I've come up with this (need to decide on a monitor):

CASE CM Elite 130  $169.00
CPU Intel E3-1231 V3  $829.00
GPU Gainward GTX970 4GB GDDR5  $1,099.00
HDD WD Caviar Blue 1TB  $179.00
MOBO Asrock H97-Pro4  $329.00
MONITOR BenQ GL2460HM  $539.00
PSU Seasonic M12II Evo 520W 80+ Bronze Fully Modular  $279.00
RAM Corsair 8GB DDR3 1600MHz  $229.00

Total: RM 3,652.00
*
that motherboard won't fit boss, the case only support ITX motherboard

Is there a huge performance difference between a 770 and 960?
*
The gtx 770 will be faster than the 960. Still depends on pricing, if the price is close to the 970 then I suggest getting the 970 instead.
