Im not quite knowledgeable about how graphics card compare each other. And I don't know about xeon processor but I do know it starts getting affordable for desktops even though it was for servers.

I think I can get the GTX 960, I wouldn't really mind a lower graphics card. Then some people recommend me the GTX 750Ti which is claimed as the best efficiency although I'm not sure about playing BF4 on it. So what cheaper graphic card would you suggest, or just get the 970 because for it's price-performance? I think the i5-4460 is enough for me.

Is it possible to get it around 2.7k? I didn't know GTX 970 is that pricey, sorry

Bit of a bind here. My boss, while updating the PS Audio Dectet via USB, managed to somehow trip the entire work place into darkness and also kill his precious Macbook Air. So planning to get a new work pc. Was looking into some hardware choices but I'd thought I'd just see what you guys can cook up.

Any way to dump in a Video card?

Hmmm, I was thinking more of getting a AMD A10-7700K, slap in on a GIGABYTE GA-F2A58M-DS2 with the same other specs you suggested but no discreet GPU. I'll reuse the office monitor since this has DVI support. But does a A10 chip require good after market cooling for extended operations? It's an aircon room but not sure if I need a good air cooler that fits a small matx case.

I've a bit of an issue deciding on a budget ITX board + processor + GPU that I can use for a machine for basic usage (documents, streaming, movies etc, strictly no gaming).

I will have a CM Elite 130 case to fit this ITX board in. After some research the below are some of the options:

AMD:
Biostar A68N-5000 (A4-5000 APU onboard)
Semptron 5350 + Any AM1i board

Intel:
Asus / Gigabyte / Asrock / Msi 1800 or 1900 series (Quad core celeron on board)
Asus / Gigabyte / Asrock / Msi 81 - ITX mobo + Processor?

Understand the above options contain different solutions,
some are SOC some are not but which one would be the best performing for an under rm400 budget?

Power consumption is not an issue as this rig will be hooked to a 500W FSP PSU so I believe will be plenty enough.

Kinda leaning towards the Semptron 5350 + AM1i board at the moment but open to other suggestions as well if any.

I'd be willing to go further up to rm600 but of course less is better.
But if it means a significant jump in future proofing or performance, I will consider it.

Up to the rm600 range, and i3 + a H81-ITX board would be achievable right? at this price point will be it more advisable against the other options?

This is cause the other on board solutions would set me back rm3xx tops, this will almost double it.
That said though, if it is that much better I won't really mind.

However, what do you think of the other options like SOC 1800, 1900 series, Biostar A4-5000 APU and the AM1i + Semptron?
