Hey TristanX,

Thanks for the reply. I assume my monitor is still good then? smile.gif And how do I get it from Techview. I have looked at the list of sellers at the first page but Techview is not listed.

Thanks, again.
*
You can find Techview's online shop here
http://www.lelong.com.my/leadtek-winfast-g...5-12-Sale-P.htm

I bought mine from Techview by the way.

Hmm, I don't need SSD, what else can I improve?
Plus R290X or GTX970 (heat, energy vs memory issue?)

For my friend, he has 3k budget, so need your inputs on that list of hardware.
*
Have you triend SSD yet?

Recommended monitor is 1080p. VRAM issue won't affect GTX970 for a very long time. If you have no confidence with that, go for MSI R9 290X 4GB DDR5 Lightning at RM1299 and Seasonic M12 II Evo 620W at RM359 with that excess money from SSD.

Your friend has some overpriced hardware. Some refinement.

Core i5-4460 - RM629
Asrock B85M-HDS motherboard - RM239
Kingston 8GB DDR3-1600 x1 - RM239
Leadtek GTX970 4GB DDR5 Hurricane- RM1169 (from Techview)
WD Blue 1TB hard disk - RM184
Seasonic M12 II Evo 520W power supply - RM279
Bitfenix Neos case - RM179

RM2918 total (Viewnet prices)

Thanks sifus for the suggestions.
Sifus mentioned "Viewnet" in most of the suggestions.

May i know how and where should i go to assemble the rig?
Directly go to their shops?
Would the actual price differ from their price list?
*
Yes, you can get them to assemble the rig for free.

The price list from their website is up to date.

Hi sifus, any comments on this proposed rig?

[Budget] SGD2800

[Purpose] Gaming. No interest in OC

[Monitor resolution] 1080p or higher

[Games & softwares that use frequently] From low graphic steam games to high graphic ones like Assassin Creed

[Personal preferences] i7 and GTX970

PSU - Seasonic M12II 620W
CPU - Intel i7 4790
CPU cooler - Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
Mobo - ASUS H97 Plus (wanted to get the Z97 but it's overkill since I don't do OC)
Graphic Card - Gigabyte GTX970 G1 Gaming (or should I just get the Windforce version?)
RAM - G.Skill Ripjaws X 2x4GB 1000MHZ
HDD/SSD - Seagate 2TB 7200rpm and Samsung 840 EVO SSD 120GB
Casing - Fractal Design Define R5
Case fans - Corsair AF140 LED Blue Quiet Edition
ODD - ASUS 24X DVDRW

Thanks in advance  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
Don't see any issue. Your budget is a lot more than total price of your setup.

I still suggest Leadtek GTX980 over that for RM500 more. Also, GTX970 may encounter VRAM issue for 1440p or higher.

From GTX 660 + S2340L,
is this the right time to jump on either gtx970 + gsync monitor (AOC gsync, ROG swift is OOB now) or Jump to freesync + amd (by comitting to AMd GPU first)? as im getting the limit of gtx 660 now. running at 99% when gaming even when not at full setting (archeage).

or wait till the tech a bit more mature (how long?) and change to Ultrsharp (U2414H/U2515h) monitor? please note that im not professional, and casually edit pics. Currently, im not sure if i would appreciate the high refresh rate (as i havent try) or good colour reproduction (S2340L is my first IPS monitor).

[WTRent/Try] ASUS ROG swift paired with mid end gpu. icon_question.gif Please  icon_question.gif
*
Can you afford RM2.7k Asus ROG 27" Gsync monitor?

What is your full PC spec? Yeah, GTX970 is a good buy. It will boost the performance significantly.

OOB = Out of budget. but still, if its totally worth it, i will just get the swift first and use it on gtx 660, upgrade GPU later.

Current spec

CPU - i5 4690k + CM Neptune 240M
MOBO - Asus z97 Pro Gamer
GPU - Galaxy gtx 660
RAM - Kingston HyperX 4gb X 2 (Blue colour)
PSU - Enermax Naxn+ 620W
SSD - Crucial Mx100 256gb
HDD - 2tb WD Blue
Casing - Corsair 300R
Monitor - Dell S2340L
*
Monitor does not boost gaming performance. GTX970 is a better buy.

My tangan also gatal2 nak beli ROG swift, but never found it in my conscious to justify the price..
Kalau ade kesabaran dlm jiwa. Wait for a card that is is good enough to power a 4k, and buy 4k monitor + GPU then. Again, IF.
*
Also, 4k monitor requires even more graphic card performance. Single GTX980 is not enough to max out 4k.

Hi, any comment on this spec ?
Specially the Mobo and GC.
Just curious, if downgrade to GTX960 enough for photoshop + Diablo 3 ?

Looks good. it all depends on which path you are going. Techview selling Leadtek GTX970 at RM1169. You might wanna go Coolermaster V 750W Semi-modular at RM409 for spec 1 if you want it overclock and SLI ready.

QUOTE(yamato @ Feb 14 2015, 09:36 PM)
hope to get some advice from all sifus on a pc for office use.

[Budget]
RM 1k-1.2k (cheaper is better)

[Purpose]
mainly for data entry, accounting, browsing.

[Hardwares that will be re-use]
1. LCD monitor
2. SSD
3. ATX casing

[Location]
Sel/KL

[remarks]
prefer an i3, also mobo that support SSD.
rig shall be reliable for 5yrs as it is using for storing the accounts database.

Cheers & Happy valentines!
*
5 years and i3? Asking too much for a low budget. Parts with long warranty are more expensive.

How about these?

Core i3-4150 - RM374
Asrock H81M-VG4 motherboard - RM159
Kingston 4GB DDR3-1600 x1 - RM129
WD Blue 1TB hard disk - RM184
Corsair VS 550W power supply - RM179
Thermaltake Versa or V3 Black or Aerocool VS-3 case - RM129

RM1154 total (Viewnet prices)

QUOTE(cend @ Feb 15 2015, 01:26 AM)
[Budget] = RM 2.2K - RM 3K

[Purpose] = Videojuegos (At least Battlefield 4 at Ultra 35 FPS and CSGO), Architecture, Graphic Design

[Hardwares that will be re-use]= Mouse and Keyboard, Monitor (21 inch)

[Monitor resolution]= No need 4k, only looking for 1080p for now.

[Games & softwares that use frequently] = Revit (Uses DirectX no need workstation cards), AutoCAD, Photoshop, Opencanvas, SAI, Battlefield 4, Dota 2

[Location] = Klang

Additional note: Im looking at GTX 750Ti, GTX 960 and GTX 970 (despite RAM issues I'm just using single or dual monitor setup only). I would need highest Processor specs available for revit rendering, 8GB ram for graphic editing, I don't need SSD or fancy case or fancy motherboard SNIPER or anything (but good quality and future proof as possible). Seperate monitor budget from main budget. Cheap as possible.

Thanks for any replies
