Yes. The only drawback for HSBC is difficult to talk to human. Always machine.

*the trick is chose Malay language when you call CS. The waiting time shorter. If you choose English, you might need to wait for more than 10mins!!!

Even though that was stated in the TnC, better call to confirm. Ask the CS to check in the system

Using the cards for 3 years. No issue.

HSBC MpoWer platinum SUCK!

Only got cashback 2% for petrol n groceries n dining(transaction before 15 oct) instead of 8% even spent exceed rm2001.
This is only the second month i use this card and im going to cancel it!!

The customer service line suck too!! On hold for 15mins before human answering call.
*
Yes. The CS is very terrible. But the cash back is very accurate. If you spend above rm 2000 , you will get 8%. Please be aware that the spending is base on calender month.

2000 x 8% = 160!!
No capped???

Kindly read the term and condition carefully. Cash back only apply for grocery and petrol on weekends. It is not total amount that you will get cash back. Also there are other terms.

So, if i swipe RM2000, max cashback pun rm50 only, which effectively= 2.5%  shakehead.gif

2.5% is consider good for me. Any other cc give us 2.5% rebates on all spending? I can be only think of watami card.

How is this 2.5% for all spending? You have to have certain amount of in-category spending.

Same like saying that if I use my Maybank Ikhwan to spend RM1000 for petrol (earn RM50) and then spend RM1k on other things (earn 1x treatspoints, let's ignore that) I'm getting 2.5% on 'all spending'. No, in that case I'd rather use Ikhwan for the petrol and another card which gives more reward on general spending.

Like Titanium or Essentials (1%) or Watami (3-5K per quarter). Then I get 5% on petrol and 1-3% on the rest.

But with HSBC you're forced to two minimum spends to maximize. Minimum spend RM2k per month, and then minimum spend on petrol too. And effective cashback drops if you spend RM1999....

Agreed with your opinion.

HSBC is famous for that. I used to waited for 30 mins and yet no one answer the phone call. My conclusion is don't call CS if possible. Then now I am
Happy using their card. The other way is you choose Malay language instead of English. You could save your waiting time. My two cents:

If any of you are considering of signing up for the HSBC Amanah MPower Platinum -i and thinks you're going to get 8% cash back for Petrol and Groceries.. best you click here and read my Introduction To Credit Cards - CC 101 where I showed that max cash back for petrol or groceries with the HSBC MPower is 2.35%
*
Hi. The maximum cash back not 2.49%? If one spend RM 635 on petrol and RM 1366 on others, and get RM 50 cash rebate, then isn't it 2.498%? Correct me if I am wrong.

Amanah M-Power Platinum annual fees can be waived?

I am using the amanah m power platinum cc as well for past few years. I never being charged AF. I think if you spend on the card constantly, they won't charge AF on that.
