Actually that security device is only needed for certain transaction on the HSBC website. For normal credit card use, you don't need it. Unless you have a lot of transactions that need to be carried out instantly, you can leave it at home.

QUOTE(homeboytomato @ Dec 28 2018, 06:32 PM) Waited for 10 mins. Nobody picked up d phone at 6.30 p.m. Friday. Was connected once. you need to apply through the promo link. Otherwise you won't be able to get the 500 bucks voucher. They have multiple promos going on for the same cards.I did apply for the Lazada RM 500 e-voucher acquisition promo. However, after I submitted my basic info through this website, https://sp.hsbc.com.my/lazada500?WABFormEnt...d4aAmaMEALw_wcB It just popped up a message saying "thank you" and didn't redirect me to fill up the application form. I asked CS, she said if after 3 days still nobody calls me, then I may call CS again. Now it's ald 3 days over. I doubt if I'll be able to catch the RM 500 lazada promo. Or shall I straight away submit my application without using the promo link? |

QUOTE(iXora.ix @ Jan 7 2019, 10:48 PM) So now HSBC also ask the IC and EPF to be print in front of our office now? I though only SC back do that They ask for everything and give low credit limit. Std chartered didn't ask me for that instant printout but I offered them to avoid giving my total EPF savings figure. |

QUOTE(lilsunflower @ Jan 15 2019, 11:32 AM) Do you know if a third party issues your SMS / e-mail Lazada vouchers? Seems like HSBC.For me, my physical Lazada vouchers are handled by a third party. I'm not sure if its the same service provider, but just sharing my experience of the unusual delay in December. My previous redemption in October only took 1 week from date of request. I was really surprised when I saw the voucher arrive so quickly! I also had a Shopee voucher delivered, but I think that took 2 weeks. Digital Support MYH <digital.support.myh@hsbc.com.my> Dear *******, Congratulations on getting your new HSBC Credit Card. As part of the HSBC Credit Card Promotion with Lazada, you are entitled for RM500 Lazada e-Voucher. To claim your gift, simply fill in this code on your next purchase with Lazada: ********** |

actually, among all the banks, HSBC seems extremely cautious with credit cards. So it's possible they want physical thumbprint to validate information. But it's weird they use WhatsUp or personal mobile, so better to validate it's really them. The request for all these thumbprints (probably to printout IC details or EPF) or whatsoever should come from a 03 number belonging to HSBC. Once the 03 confirms that someone else will be calling you, then only entertain 01x calls.

QUOTE(ping325 @ Jan 18 2019, 04:39 PM) yes called hsbc official CS and they responded its a new precaution from them ... its a bit weird but maybe they had a reason for doing that , it could be anyone key in your details from online maybe, and hence they need physical thumbprint to verify it is you , where else cimb and maybank have the technology of applying directly inside maybank2u and cimb clicks where u need to login. When you can apply after logging in to maybank2me or cimb, it means you're an existing customer. Obviously they don't need so much verification if you're already an existing customer. Some of us even get to add additional credit cards through a phone call without any documents. |

QUOTE(Quang1819 @ Jan 24 2019, 08:24 AM) HSBC Amanah is the best cashback cc for petrol right? The salesman told me that even if I were to pump RM100 a month I'd still get 2%+0.2% cashback? Is it true? To me, Amanah's cashback term is pretty restrictive. You only get x% cashback from selected merchants, including petrol. Otherwise, you get 0.2% only.Edit: I don't spend more than 500 on petrol a month. So 8% has no effect on me lol For my case, even their approved grocery merchants are far from me home. QUOTE(hakkai0810 @ Jan 24 2019, 12:13 PM) anyone still waiting the RM500 lazada voucher from HSBC? Fulfill the spending req on Dec 06 but still waiting until today Mine was from an earlier period, but it took like 1.5 months+.I don't think they know you fulfilled the spending on Dec 6 until your statement is out, as I don't think banks will keep spying on the accounts of their clients. Once statement is out, they'll probably arrange to get the voucher for you, and it doesn't happen instantly of course. This post has been edited by beLIEve: Jan 24 2019, 12:32 PM |

QUOTE(chesslover @ Jan 25 2019, 10:10 PM) How often HSBC website refresh the online credit card balance ? I don't remember exactly, but I do remember they're a bit slow. Give 2-3 days and see.Last night I've made an instant transfer to settle hsbc credit card bill via maybank2u, but it haven't reflected until now. Maybank2u shows that the transaction was successful and there's no return of fund. |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Feb 13 2019, 07:55 PM) I still have other cards and it is showing up in my CCRIS, I don't want to have such high total CL showing in CCRIS. It may affect my other credit applications. Any reliable source telling you that high CL could affect other applications? As far as I researched, one of the factor that determines your credit score is the % of credit utilization. Another one is the number of loan/card applications you made in the past 6 months. You can test at MyFICO for free. I got a range similar close to David's score. But if I "reduce" my debts further and "did not" apply any cards in the past 1 year, I get 775 – 825 This post has been edited by beLIEve: Feb 13 2019, 08:55 PM |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Feb 13 2019, 09:31 PM) No reliable source, just hearsay but since it's a lesser used card, I don't mind to reduce. https://www.myfico.com/fico-credit-score-es...ator/estimator/ almost same as CTOS. So if you play around with the figures, you can know what to do to improve your scoring Let me check it out. This post has been edited by beLIEve: Feb 13 2019, 09:42 PM |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Feb 13 2019, 10:05 PM) Don't know how reliable is that comparing to CTOS, I'm getting 725-775. Regardless, back to the topic I will see if they will offer some cash bonus when SST kicks in, then I will reduce CL else gotta bid farewell to HSBC. 2 person did the test, ctos and this very close to each other. This one you can keep playing for free.Ok don't want to stray away from HSBC thread. |
