Ahh ok. I don't remember hitting this, but it's been a few months already. Maybe I didn't try login after registering for the sec device.

Guess you'll have to go to a nearby branch to pick it up.

It seems I can't find the page anymore. It used to be there, maybe HSBC has quietly removed it or amended this clause. I'm not sure since I don't own this card anymore.

I don't see much issue to waive the AF. Good luck.
*
When I checked a week or two ago, I also couldn't find the waiver for non-mpower cards. I think they revised it. I remember back in Sept, it was 12 swipes a year for mpower and 1 swipe per month for the other 2 promotional cards for annual fee waiver along with first year waiver.

The PDF file was last updated in nov if I remember correctly.

Received Poslaju notification paper and need to  visit branch and collect it, really inconvenience...I was expecting they mail drop.
*
Consider yourself lucky they willing to poslaju it. they made me collect at their branch, even more inconvenient. For some reason, they post it to some people but not others.

I read point b and c, these points probably mean regardless any reason, existing users won't be entitled anyway.
*
I remember people here have been doing that in the past. HSBC promo is one of a kind. But you cannot do it twice from the same campaign, at least, that's what I read from last year's T&C. So after I got mine in Sept/Oct last year, they extended that campaign to Dec.

This year, it seemed that they extended it from Feb to Dec. So you can't apply for another card to get another $500 voucher until end of the year. Probably a lot of people cancelled after 6 months. imagine if they extend the current campaign all the way to 2020.

QUOTE(rooneybeckham @ Jun 17 2019, 10:50 AM)
Point C should be meant that exclusion for those applying other sign up promotion campaign, like RM300 cash back, or luggage bag.
If they really wanna exclude existing users, then better state thr: For existing card holder, and full stop. haha

I think I saw some forumers report that can grab this promotion voucher even for existing card holder. hmm.gif

I will try email CS to clarify.
*
yes correct.

QUOTE(tadashi987 @ Jun 17 2019, 11:51 PM)
technically it has annual fee, just that you need to swipe once every month right?
*
Correct. You'll be billed and must pay the annual fee if you miss out one before you can appeal for a waiver.

yeah, weird people. maybe commission vs $500 voucher loh

QUOTE(matrix88 @ Jun 20 2019, 09:48 AM)
you already own HSBC Visa Signature and you applied for extra Visa Platinum? hmmm....
*
no, i turned down the Signature. high annual fee in case I forget to use it every month or cancel within a year. I've read in earlier posts that eventhough they waive it eventually, still have to pay first.

maybe you are not qualified even for their Visa Platinum.
Strange when you said they offered you with Visa Signature with increased credit limit. You dont even have their card, how they offer you? salesman talk when they wanted you to sign up?
*
ohh i'm holding their Amanah. also didn't have good experience applying it. looking forward to cancel everything with HSBC.

The PDS is Jan 1, so it's this year. Anyone applied this year should be able to confirm 1st year waiver or not.

Do they need u to submit again ur supporting docs?if need it might be sales and service call
*
everytime they called also say no need docs. But the time before this one, they even offered credit limit increase. I guess they can offer the sky, but it's up to the credit dept to approve.

QUOTE(BRY7 @ Jul 12 2019, 08:15 AM)
but for VS still waive able with 12 swipes (1 monthly) right?
*
that will be 2nd year already, i.e. 1 year after getting the card. annual fee is billed at the beginning of the period of that year. we are referring to whether a person is charged annual fee the moment they get the card in 2019.

Do you still get an SMS from HSBC informing you of your payment due? Is the sms sent on the statement date?

I am asking because I lost my online banking login device and the replacement is RM50.  Last resort will be calling CS and ask.
*
Never. Only SMS when statement is ready.

HSBC allows logging with primary+secondary passwords to download statements. You can actually do a lot of things without the security device. So far I only use it to add new recipients for payment.

Cannot, once change to device login unable to go back to the normal way. That’s what the CS at the branch told me.

If still get that sms then good, i will know when statement is generated and IBG the amount.
*
Ok. I never change anything, so I can login with both. Perhaps you should just give a try instead of beLIEving the CS?

Better set reminder in case SMS does not arrive. Or haggle for waiver.

Hi, I'm first month using HSBC Amanah Platinum. 8% groceries/petrol cash back once monthly spending >RM2k.

Can members here help me with this question? If I transfer RM2001 to BigPay/Boost, next I went and pump petrol/do grocer, I'll get 8% cashback on these spending right?  Cap at RM50.

I did that for the first month, but my cashback only RM4.5...my misc/petrol/grocer spending calculation still base on the normal 0.2% cashback.

Confused...
*
the fine print shows selected petrol brands (sHELL, Petronas, BP if I don't have memory leak) and grocery brands (Maidin and a few others).

If you read carefully, he said that he topped up BP & Boost and spent.

spend must be correct merchant only can loh. that's why i've given up this card until recently to roll some funds.

i think chulholic is right. the 8% follows calendar month, so it'll the second statement. I don't remember first come first serve or not since i've not been using it for over 9 months.

HSBC's cards so complicated. Better just aim for the gifts such as the recent Lazada RM500 is earsier. Later cut it & reapply when there is promotion.  tongue.gif
*
exactly. but even that i did not cut my card and apply new promotion, they reject my application. Reason being i need to hold existing card for 1 year to qualify for new campaign. i'm cutting my card once i'm done rolling funds.
