Just finished reading this after a couple weeks of slow reading. smile.gif

Went back to hometown recently and found that there is a tua yi pek temple fully painted in red just about 5 minutes away from my house, last time never knew what it was, now I know. smile.gif Though it was closed that day I passed by, my sis mentioned that she always see heibaiwuchang figures there and an old lady, probably the medium or the temple support.

Hope you had a good time reading, Audrey. Feel free to pose me questions or otherwise comment on the subject. smile.gif

It is rare for a Hell-themed temple to be painted red, which is a colour normally associated with Heavenly gods; Hell deities usually identify with corpse green, bruised blue, bone white or pitch black. Below is a more typical example of a Hell-themed temple.

@nachtsider This was taken off google streetview, based on an image a couple years ago, it's outdated because when looking at my house in the view it doesn't have the awnings build up yet, we got it done more than a year already.

This location hasn't been painted red, but recently i went pass it is fully red, not sure why..

And I noticed this does not say "tua yee pek" but after painted red it does say "Tua yee pek" with some flags you see during the 7th lunar month where people normally put on the streets tat type.

Oh, and for the record, my hubby's family usually frequent the Lord Zhang's temple in Klang which you have previously mentioned, never knew it's a prominent one I just followed along because I wasn't very aware of these things in the beginning.

The shrine is located somewhere in Grisek; I can't recall the exact location.

It houses the local City God, three pairs of Tua Li Ya Pek, The Filial Son, Ox-Head and Horse-Face, and the Five Ghosties.

A hypothetical question: what would happen if a shrine is left unattended for months, or even abandoned altogether?

From my YouTube channel.

A medium channels Justice Bao, the Imperial Magistrate of Hell.

Whomever allowed it to fall into disuse is going to have a very trying time.

Saw this in another thread:

QUOTE(KingDamo @ Feb 1 2016, 07:14 PM)
In Buddhism and Taoism, disbelievers of karma and those who interfere with the adoration of Buddha are sent to the Fifth Court of hell.
I would like to reiterate that Taoism has no concept of Hell.

It is very much a Buddhist and Chinese folk religious belief.

And as per Chinese folk religion, it is not a sin to be atheist or disbelieving, as long as you don't be a dick about it.

A virtuous atheist has just as good a chance of entering the Pearly Gates as a virtuous believer.

Tell me what matters you wish to seek advice about, and I will refer you to a suitable place.

Different gods specialise in different matters; you don't go looking for a carpenter when you have a toothache.
