QUOTE(prince_mk98 @ Jan 14 2015, 10:47 AM) TA European Equity fund good? Seems that people say Msia market is down for 1H 2015, maybe we can consider Europe / Global market funds. Go FSM and (1) read its fact sheets (2) read its annual/interim report (3) use chart centre and see how that fund fared against its benchmark/peers This is how u should judge a fund |

See how it fare againsts Stoxx index TA European 14.7% Arbedeen Islamic World Eq - KGF 17.8% Cimb AP Dynamic Income 20.4% Cimb Global Titan 21.6% I think there are other funds better outpeforming than TA European. Is it right my opinion? |

Outlook 2015: European equities
If nothing else 2014 acts as a reminder that very rarely do markets or economies move in a straight line — either upwards or downwards. No doubt 2015 will be no different. General elections in the UK, Greece and Spain may make some headlines. US interest rates maybe another. That said Europe today remains in much better shape to deal with such events than it was in 2011 and 2012. Given the depressed expectations and valuations of European equities we don’t believe it will take much for the asset class to make progress in 2015. Expectations have been reset lower and are there to be beaten. http://www.fundsupermart.com.hk/hk/main/ar...equities_EN.pdf |

QUOTE(Pink Spider @ Jan 14 2015, 11:39 AM) U gotta compare apple to apple lar bro Well, I think there are two types of comparison:TA European vs Stoxx index Aberdeen World is unrestrained world equity fund KGF is 100% Bolehland CIMB Asia Pac Dynamite is Asia ex Japan CIMB Global Titans is US+Europe+Japan Cannot compare like that When Bolehland flying, of course KGF would be "better" than TA Europe! And US markets have been performing better than Europe. 1) compare funds of certain region from different fund managers 2) compare funds of different region from one fund manager Both are ok, right? |

QUOTE(river.sand @ Jan 14 2015, 12:19 PM) Well, I think there are two types of comparison: 1st, u decide which region u wanna invest in, by researching, which region has more upside potential1) compare funds of certain region from different fund managers 2) compare funds of different region from one fund manager Both are ok, right? Sometimes it's not just about upside potential, u may wanna invest in a particular region for diversification purposes Then, u shop around for the fund that beats or at least matches the index for that region |
