QUOTE(wongmunkeong @ Jan 14 2015, 08:08 AM) eyes on WHICH "ball" bro? If you think it through, EPF withdraw is only done every quarter. Not everyone is that tech savvy. Besides, she only prompt me four times in a year. Is that excessive?distracting as U said anyhow, seriously - one can use CALENDAR in google or yahoo or Outlook to do reminders ma. similar to agents' reminders + less "distractions" Perhaps I didn't put it correctly n you misunderstood my intent being more focused on balls and reminders. Though I check my portfolio every morning and read up on business news, there is always that gap and missed opportunity. An agent is the investors extended hand, otherwise why pay the premium and not just use FSM. |

EPF is paying good dividend. Taking money from EPF to invest in Unit Trusts and paying service charge, do you actually get better return than simply leave them in EPF, no extra work, no need reminder, no hassle extra fees?

QUOTE(kabal82 @ Jan 14 2015, 09:24 AM) If u did follow EPF for the past year, usually they only announced the dividend a lil bit later, not so early into January... probably Feb-Mar time, if not mistaken yup you are right.Or just wait for them to announce it in the papers. I just saw the second pop up when i tried and click on the 2015 statement. It's said the 2015 statement will be made available once the dividend has been declared. Anyway, you decide whether dividend payouts by EPF are better than unit trust funds. http://www.kwsp.gov.my/portal/about-epf/in.../dividend-rates |

In the long run, good unit trusts like Affin Hwang Select Opportunity, Kenanga Growth, AMB Dividen Trust etc beats EPF hands down.
Don't see underperformance for 1-2 years and say UT<EPF |
