braces nowadays has risen to like 8k i heard.. really painful for the pocket =.="

Hey do you know can eat durian or not with braces?

of course can la, wear braces for 4 years already, if cannot eat durian I surely will stop wearing it. BTW, after 4 years of wearing braces, I notice very little different to my teeth, maybe because I seldom go to tighten my brace, usually people will go once in 3 weeks.

Added on December 28, 2012, 8:54 pmdepends on the type of braces actually, I went for normal/metal braces 4years ago the price is RM4k, orthodontist specialist at Bandar Baru Bangi. most popular type is metal and ceranic, ceramic price i quite high compared to metal, but it look nicer.

Hey guys i read if ur braces brackets or wire or anything break the doctor will change but you be charge for it true??? How much does one brackets cost? And any sifu here can explain to me why braces are so expensive, i did mine for 7k. and i see it was not difficult job for the doctor at all mostly his nurse did everything. Plus now if i brake it i must pay some more??

Its Govt hospital, Klinik pakar pergigian Hospital kuala Lumpur, be warned though the waiting list is too damn long, mine was about 1 year
They also have the option to reject your application if your case is not too serious.

guys, can i know how much needed to do the steel hawley retainer? my clear retainer broken in less than 3 months...need something that can last longer.....how much you all did it? and where?

i did mine in govt clinic, not braces, just a URA (upper removeable appliance, it's basically a retainer.)

i requested braces but that time the doctor said I only need URA because my main problem is one of my front teeth is rotated 90 degress out. So they pluck out my 4 teeth (I still question that, because they removed my lower two front teeth, so now my lower teeth has very little small front teeth and you can see my molars when I smile). Used URA, the slowly push the front teeth into the line. But there are still many problems with my lower teeth, some are minorly crooked. But the dentist just said," nvm, no one will look at lower teeth, we fix this problem of your front teeth enough, you also don't want wear braces very ugly right.."

Biggest regret. If I had requested braces and not said okay to URA, I'd have nice straight teeth now.

Im 25 this year, there was an advertisement to sign up for orthodontic at HKL back in 2011.

Age is not a problem. But yes, the higher your age, the more difficult it will be for the teeth to be straighten. If you are willing to travel a bit, you can get RM4000 to RM4500 including all the treatment and changing of broken braces in Bangi area.

so braces is around RM7000-8000 now? seeing the response(read from page 1), i think gov ortho is out of option. i'm 22 this year already

Yes kena charge. my place one bracket they charge a few hundred as penalty

you can tahan then extract 4... otherwise recommend you to extract 2 by 2 otherwise you cannot eat 1 week. eat porridge also you will cry. use tongue and swallow only

side note: still got place doing rm2.7k and its private no need queue

How much per bracket? I got these damon braces which cost nearly 7k, i thought this would include everything thats why the price???
