I'm really afraid of dentists actually as a kid till now.
So I was wondering is there any other less painful way for bracers or any other alternatives for them?

Hey guy, I did my braces for almost 2 1/2 years till now. Maybe can finish it within this year. Just got a curious question about this wisdom tooth. I think my upper side does not have the wisdom tooth anymore only left the bottom one (doctor never mention upper one or doctor already extracted it I don’t know sweat.gif ). Doctor once ask me whether want to extract the bottom one. I said don’t want, then until now he never talk about this wisdom tooth anymore.

Anyone got problem with wisdom tooth after finish the braces?? Like did your teeth out of shape cause of this wisdom tooth?? Some feedback will be appreciated. notworthy.gif

Doing braces is not a pain at all, at least for me. you'lll get used to it. for me, the only time when it feel pain when i just tighted the braces, the ,morning after i wake up. but my problem is i can't avoid eating hard food(fried chicken, snakcs etc) that affects the braces. i wore braces for 4years + now, and only seen abit difference.

pain is not the thing u need to worry. if u really want to do braces, this is some thing that u need to sacrifice :

1. money
2. time(for treatment)
3. food(but i eat all thing tongue.gif )
4. losing some strong teeth to make space.(my case, i lose 4 teeth)

to enjoy
1. choosing colour of braces every month.
2. attention from people.

Pain is still top of the list for me. Haha.
Money, time and food... I guess I'll live okay without them.
Some strong teeth? Maybe I'll regret it someday in the future. Haha
Thanks for the tip! rclxms.gif

depends on where u want to do it and what type of braces u want to wear. the common type of braces are metal braces and ceramic braces. metal is stronger and cheaper while ceramic is looks better. I am now wearing metal braces. KL area is a little bit pricey compare to Bangi, Kajang, Seremban. Last time i checked in Bangi is around RM4500. RM2000 for the first payment, and the rest can be pay during each treatment session.

one big advice : please check the feedback of the clinic before u decide, i regret doing at my dentist, too many patient, and he is not that reliable. i have been wearing braces for 4years +.

My condition is just the 2 upper front tooth gap (quite minimal), any idea how much would that costs? smile.gif

Saw your teeth on page 26, mine is slightly ok than yours, but yours also can be considered as ok, not too bad. 2 years easily can get normal teeth if you follow the treatment schedule. I am wearing it for 4years because i seldom do the treatment, not following the schedule at all, and and eat all kind of food, somtime it damged my braces, months after that only go to see the doctor. One thing u need to have if u want to wear braces is DISCIPLINE.

I am not familiar with other dentist schedule, so i will share mine. usually treatment will be done once in 4-5 weeks time, so this is the most important thing u need to follow. avoid eating "hard food" that can cause damage to ur teeth. if u really need to eat it, eat it 1 week before treatment so that if the braces got broken u can get it repair soon. Believe me, food is the hardest part. i know many people that follow this, and they can get off the braces just after 2years. age is also one of the main factor that determine how long u need to wear the braces according to my dentist. the older u are, the longer it will be(implying teeth problem is the same). but, no worry man, after u wear it 2-3 months, u will not bother to get it off, at least i am. smile.gif

i seen alot of people age 40+ just start doing braces, so i think there are no age limitation. Usually 2years is minimum, depends on age and teeth problem.

there is no "u can or cant resist". if u want to wear braces, and want to get it off as fast as possible, u must resist eating hard food even if it is your favourite. it will damage the braces, so u need to get it fix in the next treatment. It is free, no worry. I am wearing metal braces/normal type.
