QUOTE(G-17 @ Jan 17 2015, 11:41 AM)
Apple Refurbished sets are of very high quality usually. Just think about it for a second - brand new iPhones roll off the production line in huge numbers each day, so it's not like the QC staff will be able to inspect every aspect of every single phone. Refurbished models, on the other hand, are usually hand inspected and tested before shipment.
*
Very true, and now I know why my sister-in-law said that her refurbished iPhone 5 (that was the phone I bought from her, back in March last year) is of very good quality. And even better than buying the phone "off the rack", based on what you said above, G-17! thumbup.gif

guys do 16G is enough ?
*
What are you going to use your phone for?

If you intend to install a large number of songs from your PC's playlist, take a lot of photos, as well as download some good games that make use of the bigger screen (Asphalt 8, Real Racing 3, and FIFA take up tons of memory space), I can safely say that 16GB may not be sufficient, unfortunately!

Wow, looks like American Express is jumping on the bandwagon as well, having been left behind by VISA and MasterCard all this while! But seriously, how many of us are actually using Amex cards today?

Although the RM50.00 rebate is quite eye-watering, I must say! thumbup.gif

Morning sunshine, may I know it is recommended to turn on auto brightness or not?
*
Definitely, it's always the best way to know whether the brightness of your iPhone is optimal for whatever setting you are on - whether in a darkened room or bright sunlight! rclxms.gif

where new iPhone 6 any rumours? looking something great from apple.. this new i6 is too ordinary
*
This phone is not too bad for me though, especially the return to the curved sides, a la the original iPhone. rclxms.gif

At least it's something different from the range of straight-sided iPhones since the 4! thumbup.gif

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jan 19 2015, 07:42 AM)
Anyway, I was close to purchasing an iPhone 6 Plus yesterday's evening. I checked out the stock availability at senQ Seremban 2 yesterday. Coincidentally it has the variant and colour that I want. Plus, it allows on the spot Maybank TreatsPoint redemption. Then the sales person continued, I cannot buy the phone the outright. I have to buy it bundled with packages, either with accessories or extended warranty. I said what kind of ruling is this I don't need all those. He said I must if I want to purchase from senQ.
OK lo, I guess it's pretty confirmed I won't be buying any iPhone at this moment, will wait till next generation.
*
Wow, never knew that SenQ has such a requirement! So unfair, if people are desperately seeking to change their phone to the Apple one and the only shop selling it is a SenQ! blink.gif

And if you bought it with packages, how much would the phone have cost you then, fruitie?

QUOTE(skyfusion @ Jan 19 2015, 09:40 AM)
new 6+ user here. is it advisable to turn on both wifi and data at the same time? or just on turn which one you want to use only? e.g. at home just turn on wifi only and when on the road just turn data only. thanks
*
For me, I keep both switched on at the same time.

When I'm on the road, the 3G or LTE will be activated so that I can use WhatsApp, use Google Maps to check on the traffic situation, post status updates on Google+, etc. And if the place I'm at has WiFi, this will be utilized after I get the ID and password (if applicable), so that I can save my 3G usage! thumbup.gif

Didn't check further because those ridiculous bundled packages just turned me off. shakehead.gif
*
What did they ask you to purchase? And what are the contents of these so-called packages? shakehead.gif

Never knew that SenQ has such a crazy ruling! doh.gif

Guys how do i make it that when i take picture it automatically goes into my new created album and not camera roll that i later need to select the picture and copy them into the new album
*
I don't think that's possible, unfortunately. sad.gif

Looking at the snapshot of the "Photos & Camera" section in Settings, there's no such feature allowing you to move new photos to your new album, unless you want to save a copy of the shots in your iCloud.

Colleague dropped her iPhone 6 and it costs RM1200 for the screen to be changed. Wow. Haven't changed though. Is that really the price?
*
Where did she get the quotation? That's ridiculously expensive, by the way! shocking.gif

Hmmm, did she try the authorized Service Providers instead? One good option is at Mac City 1 Utama! thumbup.gif

I haven't seen anyone posted about the bendgate issue here. Well you need a case for 6 plus tho, too slippery to use.  whistling.gif
*
Bend-Gate? Nothing much reported here, I must say, as compared with folk in the US of A! laugh.gif

But yeah, it's indeed a very slippery phone to use, especially the curved sides that somehow match the contour of our smooth hands, haha! And that's why I'm now using the Spigen Ultra Hybrid casing, the one with the rubbery sides! rclxms.gif

Already done. Just want to attach police report.
*
Well well, it has become a police case eh? Let's see how Machines reacts to this, which will be such a slap in the face for this renowned Apple Reseller!

By the way, did you also spread the word around in social media? That's always the fastest way to make sure the party you are lodging the complaint against knows that you mean business! thumbup.gif

Maybe some accessories but not primary product like Mac, iPhones, iPad?  hmm.gif
*
To be honest, I've only bought accessories from Machines, including an iPod touch casing and some headphones, previously. They indeed have a wide variety of these stuff, compared with some of their competitors (although another good option is the Mac Studio outlets, especially the Live one in Jaya SC). rclxms.gif

But seeing the poor experience some of you have had when buying the primary product at Machines, I will definitely think twice when buying the "big thing" from them. I'll likely just stick to the Online Store instead! thumbup.gif

yeah! spread all over social media: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. So that Apple Store might consider to come to our market instead of getting authorized reseller. Make it big and see how they respond. tongue.gif
*
Oh yeah, and I wish the best to our friend mozact89, in getting a successful resolution of his complaint against Machines. thumbup.gif

Let's hope Apple gets wind of this (they surely don't want a Premium Reseller giving their customers a hard time, thus affecting their brand-name amongst the public) and who knows, the rumored "real" Apple Store to be opened in the Pavilion extension becomes a reality! rclxm9.gif

Was actually looking for the Philips Hue set, but I guess now that we know about Machines, will head to their competitor instead like EpiCentre since they can redeem points as well.
*
Ah, forgot all about EpiCenter, they're also one of the good Resellers in town, with their Pavilion outlet always packed with people! thumbup.gif

Philips indeed has very good iPhone music docks, and I have one at home in fact. It's the older-school one though, with the previous Apple dock, although I have the Lightning adapter connected to it. And the sound from this dock is just amazing, especially with the bass turned on! rclxms.gif

Oh yeah, I found the model of my Philips iPod / iPhone dock. It's the DC320 and has been serving me well for the past couple of years, in fact (from the 5th generation iPod touch, to the iPhone 5, and now the 6)! rclxms.gif

We're not even in the first tier countries of product launches - the possibility of a physical Apple Store here in our market is extremely remote. Not to mention our RM keeps dropping against the USD
*
Even Singapore, being the location of Apple South Asia's HQ, does not have an Apple Store. I can safely say that if AAPL plans to open their first Retail Store in this region, SG will get it first followed by MY.

Which means that for now, we can only go to Perth, Hong Kong, Shenzhen, or Shanghai to check out the nearest Retail Store (all these cities are 5-6 hours flight from KUL, and within the same time zone)! sad.gif
