i downloaded MY Holidays from ireka but it seems like i need to add the holidays one by one...
*
Why not check out "Occasions+" at the App Store? Other than being a reminder for birthdays or events, this app can also be used to track Malaysian holidays, if you set holidays to our country.

But better still, should you be a frequent traveler overseas, you can also select from a whole list of other countries' holidays, including Singapore, Australia, China, the USA, United Kingdom, and South Africa, to name a few. And it also has a selection of religious events, including Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, and Islamic! rclxms.gif

Which is why I don't need to have the holidays bundled into Calendar or Fantastical, but just use Occasions+ instead! thumbup.gif

looking for a good and reliable case and gsp for ip6+. any recommendation?
*
What are you looking at? Transparent, ruggedized, or leather, or even something else altogether? hmm.gif

This is the one I'm using and it's quite a nice, transparent case with rubber sides for solid grasp. It's the Spigen Ultra Hybrid and I got the one that is mint color for my iPhone 6 at the MacStudio Live! in Jaya Shopping Center, Petaling Jaya for $69.00. And if I'm not wrong, there's also one for the 6 Plus but I'm not sure what colors are available though. rclxms.gif

QUOTE(666devil @ Mar 4 2015, 01:34 PM)
Anyone here mentioned iOS is perfect? I will give them a good spanking if they do. I am from Galaxy 3 and 4 user. Here is my take:
1) Command center so much room for improvement. I miss toggling off my location when not in used. Then again, I never toggle off anymore bcoz iOS obeys their own settings, unlike android leak battery here leak data there. Always have to go app and data manager to disable.
2) camera is the best and fastest focus I have used. Really point and shoot. Good riddance with S4 camera, regardless of its 16MP. Cannot focus properly, what's the point?
3) battery in 6+ is God send. No more leaks.
4) the share links to other apps feature sucks!!!missed android's sharing here.
5) replaceable battery and sdcard is no longer relevant. Sammy took both away in s6
7) love the global updates released! Android? Unless u using nexus, wait until 6 months also no news. U r lucky if manufacture company still decide to update os after 1 yrs.
8) greater and cheaper , higher quality apps in App Store! Together with family sharing, I am now even buying albums to share with family members.
9) very minimal configuration compared to android. But it's a good point for me. Less headache to support for corporate company. If don't like, just JB.
10) lag? Don't feel it anymore after 8.1.3. In 8.1.2 still lag. Sammy in the other hand so full of bloat wares that leak processing cycle that it lags.
11) notification? Just select the banner where it will only pop up as a status bar on top screen. For me, I turn off most notification except whatsapp.
12) security? I definitely trust iOS more than android due to junk ware and too little updates too late. U try post a security breach in he news and see how fast Apple come out with patch. Android reported security flaws like go into black hole.

I can go on and on. But as u can see, iOS also has many cons over android. No os is perfect. Just which one has more advantage over the other.
*
Very good points there, mate! That's why we should just END this silly iOS-Android bashing once and for all, and accept the two firmwares for what they are, irrespective of their respective pros and cons. notworthy.gif

Too bad I still see stupid Mat Salleh fanboys running down each other on the comments section of any Apple or Android article written in the USA or some other country, how immature! shakehead.gif

i found a minor dent on my power button. is it normal? just got my phone yesterday. go back to the shop to get a new one?

If it's a manufacturer's defect, you can make a warranty claim actually. But just bring it back to the shop first and see what they tell you then! thumbup.gif

I skipped the "S" versions, i.e. 4S, 5S, so my upgrade cycle is once in two years.

Also the article started by saying it's been 6 months since the phone was launched - some of us here just got it a month or two ago!
*
Well, I was using an iPod touch all this while, accompanied by two prior Samsung phones. But since I dropped Samsung for the iPhone 5, I have also changed it to the iPhone 6, with no plans to upgrade for now as the 6 has what I want thus far - great camera, nice screen size, perfect in pocket! rclxms.gif

All the best, although my battery dies quite fast when I play really resource-consuming games like Asphalt 8 and Asphalt Overdrive (must be connected to Internet to play) for a long period of time. blink.gif

Otherwise the battery life is still quite reasonable on iOS 8.1.3, thus far! thumbup.gif

QUOTE(KaiHD @ Mar 10 2015, 04:14 PM)
The contactless payment system is just a card reader with NFC built-in. I bet you can use a US VISA card to pay via Apple Pay at AEON here now. Like in the US also, ANY card reader that supports NFC supports Apple Pay. It's only the bank that needs to implement support. The merchant don't need to do anything to support Apple Pay if they support NFC/contactless payments.

Apple Pay also don't need Bank Negara authorisation. This is because Apple Pay only replaces the physical card with the virtual one in your iPhone. To do that though, the banks need to upgrade their backend systems to support the tech that empowers Apple Pay like tokenisation.
*
Well, let's hope that Apple Pay gets introduced here soon. At least we can have another method to pay for stuff we purchase, i.e. using our iPhones, in addition to the "standard" way of handing over the credit card! icon_rolleyes.gif

Anyone stayed up to watch the live updates of the "Spring Forward" event in San Francisco, this morning? I wanted to catch it live at 0100 hrs but I fell asleep at 0030 hrs as I was too tired, groan! sad.gif

But looks like we have two new things to watch out for, here in Malaysia - the long-awaited Apple Watch and the unbelievably thin 2015 MacBook! rclxms.gif

me = skip. wait for 2nd version hehe biggrin.gif

Not me, as I'm already having an iPhone 6 as well as "normal" wristwatch, which is more than sufficient for my needs. Although I'll still play around with the Apple Watch when demo sets appear in the nearby Resellers! laugh.gif

me will do the same thing..haha

actually im eying for pebble time steel or alcatel one touch watch..

and some news say android gear will support ios in future biggrin.gif
*
That last sentence of yours caught my eye. If that's the case, it will be the first time EVER that iOS is licensed to third-party gadget manufacturers! thumbup.gif

But the smart-watch market is indeed one to watch out for, although competition is bound to increase, with big electronic players like Apple, Samsung, and Alcatel challenging the "traditional" manufacturers! rclxms.gif

I have done it before but it is via the "Contacts" app on my MacBook. But since your contacts are synced via Google, I'm not sure whether this can be done or not though. hmm.gif

Guys would like to ask if I can use all the functions of iPhone bought from USA here? Like LTE and GSM network?
*
Yeah, you had better make sure, because my brother had a nasty experience when he bought the iPhone 6 from Dubai last year. While it worked well in both UAE, Malaysia, and Singapore, the phone simply could not access the 3G network in China, where my brother is primarily based! ohmy.gif

In the end, he traded in the phone for another iPhone 6 but this time, it's a Malaysia set, which worked well in China. And had to absorb the loss as a result! sad.gif

QUOTE(jasonctx @ Mar 11 2015, 11:03 AM)
any small and good power banks to recommend for iphone 6?

Thanks.
*
Xiaomi has a good power bank that you can consider, with around 10,800 MaH and a very handy way to show the balance of power remaining in the device (via four flashing LEDs, shown in the picture below). And it's quite lightweight, which means the unit can be carried in a handbag or us men's sling bags. rclxms.gif

Although unlike the Belkin power bank I used previously (far lower MaH, by the way), the Xiaomi one has only got one USB slot, unfortunately! sad.gif

Ah so the phone worked well here. That's all I need to know. Thanks.
Any idea why it does not work in China?
*
Something to do with local regulations regarding 3G connectivity, perhaps? hmm.gif

But my brother told me that it gets irritating at not being able to access the Internet while on the go, which is why he decided to trade-in that Dubai-purchased iPhone 6! sad.gif

Seems like a fad to me, as I only know TWO people using smart-watches and they're carrying the Samsung one. But who knows, the Apple Watch may change this new market into something like the iPad, which revolutionized the tablet industry into what we know today? thumbup.gif

To tell u the truth I'm a surprised with the rm2900++ price tag for a 16GB 6+. Dang.  Luckily I've already bought one at a very attractive price. Why today economy I'm not going to waste that much of money on a phone.. 😅
*
I know right? And it's not just us Malaysians complaining about the sizable price increase but also those from Western countries! sad.gif

What to do, who would have expected the USD to rise like a rocket today, thus affecting the price of products sold by American companies worldwide? shocking.gif
