May I know why you keep suggesting this keyboard?  smile.gif
Seems like you highly recommend this.

Anyway, I contacted cyntrix and they say they can preorder the ducky zero for me.

Saw one shop in pyramid selling ducky zero for 379 while the price in garage sales is only 299. When I asked whether can they give me a better price, they say 370. sweat.gif
Straight say ok tq and left the shop.

Will place my deposit for a non-tkl one since the difference is only rm20 between a tkl and non-tkl verison.

Lastly, need some confirmation. i can't go wrong with a ducky keyboard right?
I plan to find a solid and simple keyboard ( no led and initially planned to get a tkl one, but will go for full size instead. ), would also appreciate it if it didn't make too much noise ( hence i chose the mx red switches ) .

While it is the quieter amongst mechanical keyboards, you'll be in for some noise upgrade as reds are quite noisy as well.

Very easy, if you don't need flashy led then get Filco. Nuff said

Yes, i understand that mkb will have some noise no matter what. I can cope with the sound ( not really considered as noise. tongue.gif ) from red switches but i definitely can't cope with blue or green. sweat.gif

Anyway, what's your opinion on ducky zero as my first plunge into mkb territory? smile.gif

Better ask other people tongue.gif
I have not been using Duckies for a long time.

Reds are fine. If you want a lower noise by sacrificing slightly the key feel, I'd recommend getting O-rings. Helps with the noise a lot.
But then again, people around you are really sensitive to noise, you'd need more than O-rings to solve the problem. Just get a Topre Silent for instance, but that's too much of an investment for most people.

For me pretty simple advise for people wanting to get a new mechanical keyboard.

Filco Majestouch 2 if you don't need led lights.

Ducky if you need led lights.

Both are recommend over and over and over and over and over again you can't go wrong with either.

Of course if you have a specific model in mind you can ask for feedback but if you aren't sure what to go, just go with either 1 of above.

i think ducky zero is a good option for budget user and pretty solid but i think i like the TKL better better position haha.
i am using shine 3 mx red and just bought a 2nd hand ducky zero TKL for my dad and i find it more comfortable.
i really like the sound produced my MX red when bottoming out the keycaps sound nice even tough with O-rings feel better i remove them cause i like to sound too much coming from a MX blue and Mx green user haha

you need to know what you want on a keyboard
Crosair k70 RGB = RGB lighting but software very hard to configure(only cherry RGB switches in the market)
ducky shine =good quality and good lighting effect and its new so no 1 know what is the con or problem with the keyboard
filco= basic function but beast quality

All mech keyboard can change keycap just some keyboard dont have a standard layout so you need to buy extra modifier or get keycap set that have the layout you have
filco and ducky standard
razer logitech some CM storm and few others

hi guys want to ask is this guy selling cherry MX clears from taobao trust worthy
http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z10....&id=39917383814
*
Actually GON's price for MX Clears is reasonable. I had to fork out 0.65 Euros per switch last year when I got it from 7Bit sweat.gif
But yeah. Never shopped from taobao before.
I know a lot of people over at GH source like a compaq keyboard with Cherry MX clears inside on eBay. If you're in US, eBay usually has pretty sweet deals on stuffs like this.
Europe on the other hand, not so much sweat.gif
