Dear Sifus, is it possible to change the Costar Stabilizer from the Filco Majestouch 2 TKL to Cherry Stabilizer.

What stuffs I need? Do I need to change the Controller Chip too if I want to change the stabilizer?

Thanks!

1st, I like that feel of Cherry Stabilizer.
2nd, I don't know why the Shift buttons easily get pushed down to either sides if being pressed hard at the sides. It's perfectly OK and problemless if not pressed with super strong force at left or right side of the key.

Is it generally like that? Or is my unit spoiled? If so, I gonna RMA it?

Can you pull the keycap out and show us the picture of the "inserts" to the wire costar stabilisers?
It looks like the Right Shift do not mount the inserts to the costar stab.
You are the first like genuine Cherry stab I see in here. Most like costar or clipped-cherry.

Edit: Probably the inserts not hook to the wire of costar stab. No need RMA ya sweat.gif

costar stabs in general won't spoil unless you really cock up something big time.

also, if you wanna replace your costar with cherry, you need to buka lubang besar besar

The rest of the stuffs are fine, except the shift button here.
I repeat the same install procedure for every other keys a few times to confirm.
I don't know where or what went wrong... rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

Actually I'm looking for image like this.

If the white color inserts hook properly to the wire like shown in the picture, your Right Shift key will be stabilized.
If not stabilized, mean not hook properly. hmm.gif

darksilver, the wire is perfectly fine in your picture.
The procedure are
1. mount the inserts to the keycap
2. hook the inserts to wire.

Image of inserts to keycap and hooked to wire is below for reference purpose (costar stabilisers, in alps keyboard).

My last recommendation for Filco, do have 1 series has media controls.
Btw, you are not the first person who not take our recommendation seriously.  icon_idea.gif

Ain't really working. I think it might be due to lack of grease? That's why the key got stuck when pressed heavy from the sides(one at a time).
I tried not to use the Stabilizer Wire, and the problem solved. tongue.gif
But, that'll mean not stable too... doh.gif

Anyway, is Vortex MKB good?
