Unless it is new or slightly used, do not buy it.
ALPS don't age well, the thing will feel like crap with a ton of dust inside.

+1 because the clicker is based on metal spring leaf.

Guys, where to buy blank coloured keycaps? Small amount only.
*
Define small? I have some, but it also depends on the profile you want and the colours.

Ladies and gentleman,

welcome to the fight night. The legendary fight. The one that has been ongoing for years!

On one corner we have ABS, and the challenger, on the other corner, the withstanding champion, they choice of many, introoooooooooooducing PBT

FIGHT!

QUOTE(belfong @ Dec 23 2014, 11:40 AM)
Nothing wrong with ABS. Just that my preferences is PBT. As I have mentioned, my daily driver is HHKB and RealForce, both using PBT. Before that, my 60% was a Poker 2, which also use PBT. So I am bias towards PBT feel. When I use a ABS, the caps is just too smooth on my finger to my liking.
*
Actually the most important criteria is the switch (what!?). I've used MX Blues with ABS (Signature Plastics) and I like it because the sound is perfect. I've used thick PBT for a while, and I prefer PBT because the colours suit my style (matte and muted) and I like how they feel and sound on my tactile boards.

So, for me: -

1. MX Blues = thin ABS
2. Everything else = MasterCardPBT, preferably thick.

Not recommended at all if you're going to get tactile or clicky switches

yup it's blue, nak cuba switch yg linear, told the seller I wanted red switches but when arrived it was black switches instead  doh.gif
thnx , I read around the web about this switch. Some said the stems will break easily  sweat.gif  , guess i'll be the guinea pig tester then hehe  laugh.gif

The price I got for this KB is not that bad  @RM228. The lighting mode is kinda limited but (only can cycle 3 times for brightness and a breathing mode) the rainbow themed led is kinda nice.

Will report further on how this keyboard will perform  icon_rolleyes.gif

Linear switches not that big of an issue for kailh, because less moving parts and it's a simpler design.

You gotta watch out for the clicky/tactile switches though.

It's a website, google for the malaysia one and ask the team there.

EDIT: you can also search yourself. That thing is called a brass PCB spacer.

thanks alot ^^ I wanted the screw that fit into the spacer.. what's that call?

It's called a screw. Under the section called screw. just measure the length and select the right heads.

Alternatively, email their sales people, attach a picture and ask them which item suits best. Really helpful people.

Depends on what games you play.

Dota 2 or similar would be ok with blues.

Otherwise, I'd recommend Browns or light Topre.

i do play a variety of games genre and a decent amount of typing.
my favourite switch is still blue and modified black switch.

but when playing racing game with keyboard, i prefer black switch over blue.

and like i always mention to anyone asking for preferred switch, you gotta try it for yourselves.
individual preferences is different.
like how some ppl like ppl who is of different skin colour, some like their partner fat...

I bought a Keycool PBT set along with my very first mkb because I know it is worth it. I got them from China taobao, the Keycool costs me close to rm100 that time.. and now with the weak MYR the price is gonna be higher than that cry.gif  better just get second hand from GS. if you need further pointers, jusnits is selling his IMSTO set for cheap!!! IMSTO and BSP are the top PBT keycaps manufacturers and their keycaps are darn thick; Keycool ones are just cheap and thin.

I graduated from using blue switch. Blues are definitely not suitable for a quiet office environment (been there done that brows.gif  brows.gif) BUT if you are staying alone then it wouldn't matter and you can enjoy the orgasmic feeling by your own. anyhow switch preference is very subjective, you will need to test it out for yourself. Viewnet n All IT in lowyat plaza, HeavyArm in SS15 have display units for you to sit/stand there n type for 10-15minutes or even longer if you don't mind the staring eyes of other shoppers.
*
Pls people, line up. Already lining up my booking fees for the imsto set.

It seems only enthusiasts will buy IMSTO and higher tiers keycaps instead of casual users.

Guess, casual users don't have enough data to justify value of IMSTO which the pricing ~ same like a Filco keyboard (RM 369) price.

Example of IMSTO keycaps set: IMSTO's blank gray thick pbt.
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

To feed some extra info..

Cherry Keyboard + Cherry keycaps => RM800++.
Casual users, like to buy keyboard (pants) but don't buy keycaps (clothes).  brows.gif
They will realise, a true mkb, consists of clothes and pants. Which is quite high cost.

The cost is kind of similar of getting a master race Topre (clothes + pants) tho. laugh.gif
*
Then they will realize the importance of having nice underwear (springs), and then start buying silk underwear (lubed springs), before realizing that the pursuit of perfection is merely a pursuit without end.
