hmm... hmm.gif somehow i think for gaming, the correct hierarchy (if there is any) should be
skills > keyboard and mouse > hardware

a pro gamer may be using average keyboard mouse and pc, and still win others who may have the best hardware the world can offer but doesn't have the skills to match the pro gamer.

that is why razer (because it's a gaming company) emphasize so much about their peripherals or accessories that they did so much extensive research on the actuation point of their "new" switch and high DPI and accuracy of their mouse because that is the weapon of a pro gamer.
you can see some or most pro gamers carry their own keyboard and mouse but not their rig, because that's all they need. (but actually maybe leh, they trust the tournament or competition organizers to provide them with good rig or because their own rig is too heavy and not practical to bring around tongue.gif)

wait, why is there such discussion again on this thread?

I know the points you stated since ages ago.

But, I find out it's NOT really true.
Because you at least need a standard and playable PC hardware 1st, then, only count on other factors.

Try playing BF4 on super lousy machines and with super small monitor... thumbup.gif
See how your skills can overcome the lag and extreme small can't see aiming point monitor.

deswai i say average, not lousy machines laugh.gif , enough to play with playable framerate on low to medium graphic settings, my bad for not pointing this out.
that's my whole point, as long as your machine is in a playable standard, the rest is the players skills and his/her immediate gears, which is the keyboard, mouse, gamepad, arcade stick or entah ada apa lagi equipment.

but at the end of the day, it's up to what interests us, some may like pc rig more than the others, some may like keyboards more, some may like audio more, some may like por...err...porsche more whistling.gif
and that is the whole reason for this thread, to discuss mainly about mechanical keyboards (topics on gaming mechanical keyboards sometimes found themselves in the grey area here or in another thread), all others are subtopic or secondary.

u mean this g19 ?
http://www.trustedreviews.com/Logitech-G19...Keyboard-review
seems to be old though. didn't their more recent gaming keyboard models become mechanical keyboards  hmm.gif

kinda surprised trying to sell a rubberdome at 699... seems over priced  rclxub.gif
yeh sidewinder rubberdome was the most acceptable back in its heyday.
PS: can't live without my ducky multimedia keys for stop/play/change track for music  smile.gif
*
There is newer edition called G19s, still that price range. laugh.gif
It's a pro gaming rigs.

Too bad, I'm no longer can use such general rubber domes (need bottom-out every keystrokes) for long period.
Will trigger my soon to be CTS, RSI etc.
For my better health, I still prefer mechanical rubber dome like Topre, or Cherry.
So, I can type longer without any pain. thumbup.gif

But from what i can see its ironic cause...
Their case is not full alu. Psu not platinum. Cooling if its air not nickel plated.

Most important hardware on their computer experience gets neglected.

Not all of them but generally. But notice alot of mkb ppl are audiophiles.

Hmm decided to use the razer rgb chroma for main rig n k70 rgb for second. Ducky shine 4 give bro inlaw as cny present.

Waiting now for the das k/b to be shipped.

its totally wrong to make comparison this way bro. an enthusiast is enthusiastic in his/her own area of interest.

we spend on our keyboards because we are enthusiastic in it and we want to test out different typing feels on our keyboards with its wide assortments of differences and add-ons, ie: different build quality/ material used to make the board, different kind of switches with very very different kind of feedback, different stiffness of the springs used, keycaps in different profiles/height/printing/material/thickness, different add-ons like the stickers, LEDs, o-rings, novelties. there's a lot of knowledge to be learnt and trial & errors before you will arrive at the particular set(s) of combination of above mentioned that will be your ultimatum.

all in all, playing with mechanical keyboard is as much as pimping out your rig. it is a hobby on its own. it does complement the computer experience. but typing on the keyboard that we loved with a tablet alone is good enough for the mechanical keyboard enthusiasts, it doesn't necessarily need to be a powerful rig to play games/render because all we like to do is type(our computer experience doesn't get neglected); likewise coming from your perspective of a computer enthusiast, using a super powerful computer that can run graphics that bleeds your eyes out, responds to you even before you move your finger, using full copper water cooling with top brands (alphacool/hws/heatkiller/etc) will be your ultimatum, you don't necessarily need to even use a mechanical keyboard to feel good playing on your rig.

ALSO, availability of moolah is a very important factor. cry.gif cry.gif with enough of it, one can up his mechanical keyboard game from a few hundred RM to a few hundred USD; heck you can even manufacture your own keyboard to the design that you like.

by the way, kudos to you for the entrance into the mechanical keyboard scene. getting a few mechanical keyboards at the same time just to find the one that you like best is something that most of us can dream of but not capable to do it. thumbup.gif

But, on your Signature, I read you're having many MKBs in your current possession. This is a sign of WEALTHINESS.
I personally, bought and used 4 MKBs since July of 2014 but, I sold 2 of them off. tongue.gif

Now, thinking to sell off my Ducky Shine 4 too... Not sure yet. Maybe not, maybe yes.

a second hand ducky shine 2, a free wang terminal, a custom acrylic ghpad and bmini. i assure you each of these pieces are acquired at reasonable price, none of them are more expensive than a razer bwu chroma. but if you say this is a sign of wealthiness, i can only rebut that i spend my money on what i like.

do u mean they are worth the price if they are using cherry mx switches?
and if the price are cheaper then its worth it when they are using kailh switches?

so you are saying it is expensive AND not worth the price because they are using kailh switch.

Yea, Kailh Switches as you already know is Made in China and very cheap. Also, the quality is not as good as Cherry MX Switches.
Razer is using Kailh Switches being "rebranded" as their very own special switches. They're called as Razer Green(Tactile) Switch and Razer Orange(Linear) Switch.
