For PBT sets, go for IMSTO thick PBT (Cherry Profile). IMSTO keycap set is expensive than the keyboard itself.

Actually, I want to buy the White Edition of Filco Majestouch 2 TKL, but, it's very expensive right? RM 600?

Around RM 600 for a new 1, and you have to import it from China Filco.
It's in limited quantity too.
I saw few people put on sales in Garage Sales for around RM300-400 second hands last time (016, lowyatguy, kaiserreich).

China Filco will mean Made in China right(except the switches)?
As far as I know Filco is mainly made in Japan, right?

RM 600 for a Filco
Might consider getting a normal Filco and case mod, or get a normal Filco and splurge on keycaps.

Personally for me, the looks of your keyboard is secondary to your feel in the long run, especially if you touch type

I used to stare at my keyboard when I'm taking a break, run my fingers through the bezel.. look from different angles.. after 3 months - meh. Plug in kb and hammer away..

You're coming from tactile/clicky switches? In time your finger skill will increase and WPM will shoot Hope you like the linear switch feel

White filco is not really white, it looks like color of white rice.
Plus the cable will go slightly yellow, need to mod after a while, unless you can stand yellow color.

Wanna get a linear board. You guys think i should

A) Swap my entire mj2 keyboard mx browns with another mj2 keyboard with mx reds or

B) Get gaterons clear switches and desolder the browns and resolder the gateron switches? I'll probably keep the cherry mx housing and just swap the gateron stems and springs in.

C) Sell the mj2 and build a new custom?

Also does anyone know how much would it cost here to build a custom plate (aluminium or stainless steel) with cut-out that allows switch opening for a tkl size board?

The 1 has flower is limited edition.

Filco are made in Taiwan. White Beige Filco also made in Taiwan.
Only Topre Realforce, HHKB, etc are made in Japan. Topre switch.

Wanna ask, Filco really that good?
Compared to other like CM Storm and Ducky?
I am not going for those weird layout keyboards like Logitech, Razer, Roccat, etc offered.

Pcb mount switches has 2 mounting pins on the bottom that mounts to the pcb. Plate mount switches doesn't have the 2 mounting pins and it only mounts to the plate.



Plate mounted switches uses the usually metal plate to hold the switches in place while PCB mounted switches uses the PCB to hold the switch in place(with or without a plate). Depending on your pcb, some have 2 extra holes cutout to allow pcb mounted switch to go into and some doesn't. You can always clip the 2 mounting legs on the PCB switches to convert it into plate mount switches but you can't convert a plate mount into a pcb mount.

Reason for having the 2 extra pins is to secure the switch to the pcb for those keyboards that doesn't use a plate.



Notice the extra metal plate on the second picture. You can use a pcb mount switch on a plate if your pcb has 2 holes to insert the pins.

Filco in Japan, China all expensive than our local price. Futhermore, if you want a White Beige Filco, you need to import.
So, there is additional charges for shipping.

Even a white carbon Filco KOBO bought by am3rr cost around RM550 last year from Japan.

Ya, it's better than Ducky and CM Storm in terms of build quality and typing experience.

RM50+ for 5mm acrylic, and 70-80 for alu 1.6mm

So cheap ehh? Where can i do it? It's included the acrylic/alu plate price as well? Or it's the laser cutting price?
