Added on March 9, 2007, 10:32 pmok...great...i just called maxis....they said i won't be on per byte basis....i'll be charged according to my package..which means unlimited data usage on my pda as well.

guys. if u are facing slow browsing after awhile of using, it might be caused by overheating.

my modem become hot pan when on for few hours. then i reaslise its a stupid design of battery charger. the battery charger does not turn off even after complete charge. thats y so hot.

just disconnect the battery connector, and my problem solved.

ohh rly

im pretty sure the batt hit >60c when i check it today....so hot till i couldn't hold it.
had to hold by the wire. fear of some battery rupture might occur...i dump it in my freezer for 20mins.

Added on March 10, 2007, 12:30 amhmm...the modem appears very cool...without the batt charging in it.

Added on March 10, 2007, 12:38 amand the stupid prob which can be so bad until i can't connect to internet at all can be solved by unpluging the antenna and back in.

Hi hi.. I just got my maxis broadband. And first impression is.. when I used it on my car park its damn fast.. as I didnt let the guy come into my house as it Nodame Style. lol.. Too messy I mean.. But when I assemble it on my room. OMG. I got only 5 kpbs... And outside I can get up to 40kpbs.. Sob..

Even TMnut I can get 100kpbs lately for BT excluding surfing the net and msn chatting. Sob... Hope things improve.. Will bring it to lotsa place to check it out. Hehe . Now to try online in the car while going to work. Wireless internet just that the modem is damn bulky. Haha

I have disconnected the battery since day 1

why?

No. 1 Hot
No. 2 The battery is damn heavy. Makes mobility impractical.
No 3. Battery life span too short
No. 4 Makes it very difficult to restart/reset modem. Now I just off the switch from the plug rather to on and off using the modem switch which looks fragile.

If mobility is so important, perhaps a datacard is much better compared to using the HSDPA modem provided by Maxsucks. That is, if they don't SIM lock the SIM to the fugly looking modem only.

i applied for the 768kps but unfortunately my area highest speed is 384 kbps only.

so far i am very satisfied with maxis broadband after updating my router firmware which always keeps me disconnected when it is idle.

in bittorent i may get up to 30++ kbps and an average of dl: 16 kps.

about the 3gb limit, i think it's untrue. These two days i 've downloaded more than 5 episodes of naruto anime.

no complaint except the heat-up of the battery in the modem. pls removed it if its not in use which is located at the bottom of the modem.

u shud put something for the comparison of the modem....imho its huge or very bulky design. don't u think so?

Now trying the modem against the window pane. maybe its due to the high inteference from my pc. CRT monitor, 2 pcs stacked together, speaker, wifi modem and pc PSU. I've been getting very slow 56k like speeds.

Results seems good at the window pane.

comparison of download:
sid meier's railroads! using utorrent: 30kbps++

I think i found the cause of my slow speed. shud be the signal interference as a place it on my cpu. now i move to it to my window sill. the speeds usually 300+ k.
