Singapore central bank may do more to contain household debt

A Bank of America Merrill Lynch report said that at June 30, Singapore household debt was equivalent to 75.6 percent of gross domestic product (GDP), while the highest level in Asia was Malaysia, at 86.5 percent

Walao....Sg also touch 76%. Not far from My....

If people claim My going to collapse because of household debt, then Sg is not very far away from My

I find it otherwise. It is your usual 1 liner which is full of bullshit claims without substance

Next time you write longer to explain your point. Otherwise, you claims sound very empty

Yes. In fact Zeti is A+ central banker. Only 7 A+ bankers in the whole world and FED and MAS are not 1 of them IIRC.

QUOTE(jolokia @ Nov 27 2014, 09:07 PM)
Other countries theory doesn't apply here in Malaysia.

This is because we have very unequal distribution of wealth, we have small percentage of very rich control the entire market movement, those who buy properties don't mind keeping it vacant, even ro rent it out they also don't care if rental collection is low.

I seen 480K property rent out for RM 900 & owner don't even bother if it is vacant for 1 year till next tenant, when people offer to buy he ask for sky high price, take it or leave it, reason been he only pay 150K for the property, so mortage is like 500 only, so don't bother to rent nor wanna sell unless can get 3-4 folds profit.

Now ice cream Boy you will never see this in other countries you finalised particularly in western countries where income is more equally distribute. Therefore our rental never reflects property price.

Understand ?

Ya it is very puzzling why bull markets can last long in malaysia. Property market for 5 years and stock market for close to 2 years and no signs of U-turning for these markets

Unusual, unreasonable, unexplained, but it is a fact ! All doomsayers are "surprised" and "missed the boat" tongue.gif

Triple effects next year.

GST, drop in crude oil and CPO price, high household debts. Having said that, high demand for properties price below 500k. Expect fewer launches next yr as developers are still selling off their inventories. So long-term wise, supply will be crimped.

The disaster come when you use credit card for downpayment, or die die also wanna commit 500k property with 3.7k salary.
Your commision from lawyer and cheating mileage claim is not fix income, sometime more, sometime may less, sometime zero, please don't count in to your monthly income n claim u earn more, you should target 300-350k property

I agree 500k below prop garner have high demand.. but that also depends on property..

like oug parklane new and below 500k.. still cant sell.. investors thoughgt 500k tags are good irregardless of what their product.. important factor in 200k first.. apartments.. studio oso nvm

with all effect hitting high time.. spending on big bills will be less .. all these effect will push interest to increase to contain inflation

tongue.gif He scared if you press further, you ask him to screen shot his payslip

For all you know, he is graduate with 2 years experience salary only RM3k. With claims only reach 3.7k-4k

Then I will advise him not to buy even RM300k apartment. Wait until RM4k salary only consider buying
