QUOTE(titansulcata @ Apr 17 2007, 08:27 PM)
sad... they used to be so much fun. eating, playing together... sigh

anyway, my sulcata is much easier to care. he just eat eat eat. his tank is next to star... so the temperature and humidity should be the same... food also the same (only sawi from day 1 and some calcium powder once in a while)

it is also very active. it digs a lot. it knocks on the tank to remind me food is needed
*
Mind you both of them have different requirements. smile.gif

That's normal for a matured specimen. Males have longer front nails and female longer at the back.

Boxie chasing ur hand might be because they are hungry ? About your res, it seems that the gamat is only good for cuts or wounds. I suggest you to try bethadine, which is good for areas infected by bacteria or fungi. U can get them from any pharmacy which costs around rm6 plus or the betadine solution which is around rm4 plus.

Er, betadine ? Its called the yellow lotion but its different from the ones that were used. Just go at the Guardian or Watson pharmacy and ask from the people there bethadine, they'll know about it. The different between betadine and betadine solution is betadine is a cream whereas the betadine solution is in liquid form. Hope that helps.

QUOTE(fairy @ May 27 2007, 04:40 PM)
hye guys...
i'm a newbie here...

huhuh...think u guys noe better bout star tortoies...i hv one....hahahah..n he's so cute!!<think so that it is 'he'>

i feed him wif kangkong n tomato....wut else ek yg they can eat...

takut salah bg jek..
*
Dont feed them with kang kung, this is because this vege can cause calcium binding which would bind the calcium from being absorbed by the body. Tomato once a while would do, better to feed them with sawi as their daily staple food.

QUOTE(fullfilth @ May 27 2007, 05:31 PM)
my one like sawi, kacang panjang & kacang botol
*
Try to stop feeding them with kacang botol and feed them less on kacang panjang. Sawi is the way to do. smile.gif

QUOTE(khaneys @ Jun 7 2007, 11:43 AM)
My totis have flu and dun want eat.always put head inside shell.help me pliz~
*
What i suggest u to do is, soak them with mild water. Then sunbath then around 9-11am. Feed them with long beans and french beans to gain their appetite back. Do sprinkle some multivitamin onto their foods daily. Use a basking lamp to increase the tank's temperature, that would boost the tortoise's digestion process.

QUOTE(xsaintx @ Jun 7 2007, 12:12 PM)
yup they're still very small. when i bought them they were slightly bigger than a 50cent coin. and yes..the sex were determined by the lady who sold them to me... sweat.gif could she be wrong?
*
Yup, she is wrong. There's no way u can determine their sex when they are that small.
