hey guys, a newbie here needing your help. i tried to increase my biostar tforce 965PT vMCH to 1.55 but after increasing it,my system wont boot. i can go as high as 1.35 from the default 1.25. any higher than 1.35 and the system wont boot. anything wrong with my mobo? its kinda new, about 2 weeks old..should i let it burn in summore? or do i need to change the NB cooler? right now im still using the stock NB cooler...

Change NB cooler. Going higher with MCH means higher heat with NB. BTW, they reported that MCH is reporting lower than it is. If you set 1.55, it will be higher than 1.55, check previous post.

Or use a fan on top of the NB if you know how to mod. If not change cooler.

thanks i changed the NB cooler as you said, and now i cant set the vMCH as i please thank you thank you

Yup, or use table fan will be another save/safe solution.

bro...pls consider the actual vMCH of the board..if not u will ended burn the chip

Actual Vmch Measurements
1.25V = 1.26V
1.35V = 1.47V (BIOS displays 1.45V)
1.45V = 1.66V
1.55V = 1.87V

hey there... anyone get to set FSB : DRAM = 1 : 1? @ 2.40ghz(or a bit higher) with RAM running @ 800mhz(or a bit higher) (with a pc6400 ram)? mind to post the settings? as i cant do 400fsb with x6 multiplier and running ram @ default 800mhz.. the whole system keep rebooting. sometimes need to clear cmos.

another question.. i already tested the new released bios whice indicates it has better dram timing configuration... mana tau.... cas4 -4 - 4 -12 shows that it's using cas3 - 4 - 4 -12 when using CPUz to see.. This mobo cant use cas4 la..??

Dun understand why u run it on multiplierx6, i think something is wrong with ur setting.

now im running normal lo.. 266 multiplier 9 ram 800mhz 5 -5 - 5 - 12.

nakata.. how you get 4 - 4 - 4 - 12? when i set to 4 -4 -4 -12, it always give me 3 - 4 - 4 - 12. my ram also cannot tahan.. it's that hynix fp-s5 bought from shawty de..

and also what did you set for g(mch) voltage? to get fsb to run at 333.7mhz? once i go over 320 fsb.. my system not stable edi... ><

What cpu cooler n power supply u r using now?

im using thermal take purepower twv 500w, and thermaltake beettle. hehe.. im a TT fans.

I see.. today i get to go 2.997ghz with 333mhz 9 multiplier and ram running at 667 mhz. with vcore 1.3++ i only changed the vcore. but i cant go higher than 346mhz 9 multiplier.. is it maybe i din set the fsb termination voltage higher? i did try set the mch to 1.45 but failed in 8 seconds by priming it. i dun dare set the mch so high... coz i can feel that the NB is so hot with my finger.. still haven mod the Heat sink. hehe..

But one more thing i still cant understand is that.. why can you guys get to do cas 4 - 4 - 4 - 12? i cant.. when i set cas to 4. it turns out to be 3. so i can only do 3 - 4 -4 - 12 which is absolutely not stable. im using Hynix FP-S5. i can see nakata doing 4 -4 -4 -12, how did you do that?

I will try the Hynix ram with 4-4-4-12 later.... currently still using the D9GXK.

ok... but i really heard that this mobo got problem with it's timing..
cas3 = 3
cas4 = 3
cas5 = 5
cas6 = 6
and so on....

i know you are using d9gxk, but you should be having the same problem if the mobo has timing problems no matter what ram you use...

Mine won't boot at CL4 above 470FSB. But i try with other mobo can boot at 500FSB at CL4 no problem at all and memtest stable. Biostar need to come out with a solution on this issue.

did you check is it really CL4 with cpuz? or you cant even boot? Did you try boot with CL4 -4 -4- 12 with lower fsb and check with mem test? and also check whether it is CL4- 4 -4 -12 with cpuz? or it's CL3 - 4- 4 - 12?

Just want to know, does Patriot Ram Signature Line DDR2 PC6400 800Mhz 2x1GB compatible with Biostar Tforce 965PT? coz i got my eye on that particular RAM la...RM290 only selling at one of the shop in LYP.

Have any one try to overclock it with Tforce 965PT?

I think should be no prob.. 965PT dont have any RAM compatible issue.

Then how to explain ASUS P5N-E SLI can boot at DDR1000@4-4-4-10@2.2V and Biostar cannot? Same stick of RAM i stick into the mobos, not to mention it clears memtest for 3 hours! On biostar, once over DDR900, cannot go CL4, need CL5 to go. Probably chipset difference, as one use 965 and 650i.

Acutally, on Asus if can do the vdroop mod and get a 6600, it will be a lethal combo as the mobo can support up to 485FSB and I didn't see from the DB anyone going over 480 for 6600, crazy super timings on 4-4-4-10
