can upgrade my z5 to gtx970m?

anyone heard a weird squeaking sound coming out from the mobo while running any application? its a constant squeaking noise

once i close all apps for awhile, its gone, but comes back when running apps

anyone tried shut down and close the lit (right before the keyboard backlight lights off?). Today got my BSOD again. The last thing I do was that I didn't wait until the light fades before I close the laptop (after pressed shut down).

I tried most of things that get people to get bsod. Ntg happens on mine though. iirc just the assassin creed bsod cuz i dont hav it

I think when you close the lid, your z5 goes to sleep mode while it is shutting down the windows. So I think the system not able to shut it down before it goes to sleep mode so when you power it on back it shows bsod error.

It is most likely cost by that. If you're using Windows 8 / 8.1, when you enabled Fast Boot Up option, you laptop actually goes to a hybrid hibernation. You need to wait for the light of the keyboard to fade before u close the laptop.
I think it is caused by the laptop is shutting down, but it is still functioning/awake, you close the lid so the laptop think you want to hibernate/sleep, it confuse whether to shutdown or sleep

I've been suspecting this for a long time. The bsod most likely associate well with the sleep mode. 3 weeks I waited until it lights off then I close the lid but not yesterday and that gets me a bsod.

Then it should be the cause of the problem, try to do it a few more time to see the issue occur or not. Either change your settings of closing your lid to Do Nothing or wait for the light to fade.
It should take long for the light to fade, about 1-10sec average and 20sec max. I do encounter sometime the light fade in a very long period of time, about 1 min when I plugged in hdd during I shut down the laptop.

The laptop is quite tempting, considering its specs and 4GB GPU for RM3799

But the thing that turns me off is that I have to add almost RM500 or even more for better cooling, IPS display, SSD and the OS.
