Some how the performance is about 30%-50% extra, current version is GTX 960m 4g GDDR5 RM4.2k upgrade to GTX 970m 4G GDDR5 is 5k.. Actually is rm800 extra about 18% of the price..
But how long would it last for GTX 970m compared to GTX 960m..?
This is from Notebookcheck :
Graphics card Overall performance (Ultra-preset)
GeForce GTX 980M +104 %
GeForce GTX 970M +64 %
GeForce GTX 965M +15 %
GeForce GTX 960M Base
GeForce GTX 860M Maxwell -8 %
GeForce GTX 860M Kepler -17 %
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Nvidia-GeForc...w.137893.0.htmlSo in average GTX 970M is 64% faster.
How long it can last is depend on what game, and what settings that you consider is acceptable. Some people don't mind playing at low settings and low resolution, some do mind going lower than a high settings and 1080p.
An acceptable frame rate is usually around 30fps and above.
So let say the GTX 960M can get 30fps, means that a GTX 970M can get around 49.2fps.
So let say the GTX 970M can barely get 30fps in the future. This will translate to only 18fps on the GTX 960M.
