QUOTE(quintesson @ May 16 2015, 12:15 AM) after all the reading the best bet is getting r32 type aircond? Nope, there's no such thing of best gas to get on buying an air cond i did ask some sales staff they don't really encourage to get those r410 inverter cos maintenance and repairing cost is much higher than non-inverter. other than Daikin how about others, other than China brand recommended such as Sharp? Don't listen to some fanboys saying. What important is how long you are going to use, the setup of your room(type of brick used, sun facing where) and the size of the room. A 22ft*10ft room you need at least 1.5HP of air cond. Choosing air cond still Japan > China > India > Vietnam > Korean. Now is summer, so you can't have down time on your air cond. So pick the right brand will be good. |

QUOTE(halcyon27 @ May 16 2015, 09:23 PM) I mentioned in [edit: another] thread before. R32 supply and distribution needs some rethink on safety before it is widely used here. See here The gas cylinder has to be kept in 60bar.60bar is a high pressure steam system used in power plant to generate 132KV of voltage and 30MW of power. |

QUOTE(halcyon27 @ May 16 2015, 11:44 PM) Goodness....refilling or filling might be a nightmare. I imagine it could easily burst the AC pipes unless proper rigging and precautions are used. Not really, the cylinder pressure will be higher than the piping's pressure. So it will be lower than 60bar. Still, using such high pressure gas cylinder need to take more precautions. |

QUOTE(carpathia @ May 17 2015, 01:39 PM) wow...this thread is really technical.... Every month you need to "service" the air cond's filter.anyways, just a simple question - when (or does it even need to ) do you guys service or refill the aircond gas ? And average 1-1.5 years you need to take the whole thing and clean. |

QUOTE(leonhart88 @ May 18 2015, 11:54 AM) well I got some facts need to be considered: Japan is a 4 season country, cannot compare like that.1. R32 is the coldest. 90% of japanese use R32 aircon 2. It's funny people look aircon based on brand alone. To make your aircon last long you need to consider your installer too. You need to vacuum the aircon before pre installed for 20-30 mins otherwise it's too late. |

QUOTE(leonhart88 @ May 18 2015, 11:58 AM) Cooling index means nothing basically.I can put an 1 HP air cond that uses R32 in my 22*20 living hall and then condemn it is not cold at all. Then I use a 2HP air cond that uses R410 in the same room and boast it is freaking cold. To make it clear, medium used are not important, other factors need to be considered together. |

QUOTE(leonhart88 @ May 18 2015, 12:03 PM) it saves electricity liao. like kimsim uses R410A 2HP in a 10*10 room. Basically the air cond we choose shall be under or over size. Both also got pros and cons.Japanese use top loader because they take a bath once a day or no sweat so no need front loader? Japanese using TL as it is more space savings, power efficient, most important safe time. |

QUOTE(leonhart88 @ May 18 2015, 12:16 PM) For me if you want to save electricity then choose R32 rather than inverter thingy Only people that have no brain will keep a WM below kitchen. Logic failed. FL is more space savings since I can put under the kitchen top. FL also can use quick wash mode. And a FL quick wash can only wash 5-10% of its rated capacity. Like if I have 5KG of laundry to wash, if I were to use a FL that rated at 8KG, I need to wash 6 times. Then I can boast around like you saying my FL's washing my laundry very fast only 30 minutes. But I will always skip how many times I'm washing my laundry. My logic never fails |

QUOTE(halcyon27 @ May 18 2015, 02:25 PM) Perhaps the only sensible thing is to hold off R32 purchase until cooling only models arrives which may bring down the price. Current models seems to be cooling and heating. Don't think an average consumer is willing to fork out 3-4x equivalent. When buying something, always consider maintenance and service first. Don't bother on the gas being used.QUOTE(Jason @ May 18 2015, 02:30 PM) I wouldn't buy R32 right now. Its uncommon which means not many people have the gas or even trained to handle it. Should anything happen you sure pay to the roof. Best efficient for HVAC are using chiller system.Like how R22 is still cheaper than R410A in Malaysia right now. http://www.daikin.co.uk/binaries/3340_Intr...m511-342471.pdf According to Daikin Daikin says their R32 is 6% more efficient in a 4kW system compared to R410A. What do I deduce from that? The efficiency gains is miniscule and only observed in larger power draws. For small home use, 1HP air cond is below 1kW lah. So the power efficiency difference is drawing straws. R410A won't be banned anytime soon. Use will only be restricted by year 2030 in the EU. Who got air con using R32 here? With chiller system you can get room temperature of 8-10°C |

QUOTE(Str33tBoY @ May 21 2015, 04:32 PM) Ic,means dat if i use 20 celcius on r22,den maybe i onli nid to use 23 celcius or higher on r410a? You set 23°C, it will work until it senses 23°C then will stop.Icic,so maybe i will be settliing down on a r410a unit den,jz scare alot problem or cons,is there ani? No such thing using different gas, different temperature setting. QUOTE(DecaPix @ May 21 2015, 05:16 PM) This rubbish are all started by some samseng front load WM that knows nuts on temperature settings. |

QUOTE(pupumaru @ May 21 2015, 10:57 PM) So far i've gotten 2 quotations RM1040 and RM1100 inclusive of installation 1st 10ft are included already. On the other hand 1 of the contractors whom went for site visit said he will charge extra to conceal the piping. Is this common? Or should it be inclusive in the installation already? |

QUOTE(Str33tBoY @ May 25 2015, 08:04 AM) Anione can confirn with me d daikin GA R410a is 3 star rating for d power consumption thing? After gas is the star rating As dis reali make me surprise as ME onli 2 stars for ME mr. Slim basic series... Btw,noise wise is more or less d same with my 8 year-old panasonic air-cond,i mean medium vs medium... If max fan is a bit noisy, but currently i am jz using 25 celcius on low for sleeping, reali damn cold... Spend more time in the shop and check the power consumption. That's more accurate. This is how I know that beside air cond that really making difference on the power consumption, other appliances won't really help on power savings. |

QUOTE(kimsim @ May 25 2015, 08:15 AM) You too old already... Like buy a car and the specs has meantion lower hosepower and the weight x 2 than engine capacity then you still buy? Am I too old for this?End out like what? Petrol drinker lah bro. You are totally wrong. Checking the spec is to know more details and does it fit the purpose or not. Like I bought a fake Lancer last year together with my wife's Jazz. Both are driving the same mileage daily and both of us also almost the same condition, stop, go, stop in traffic jams. End up my fake Lancer are doing 13km/l while my wife's Jazz 10km/l. Checking the spec not important? Well, as said, I'm a cheapskate(if this can make you happy) and only willing to pay rm50-70 of TNB bill comparing to your bill of >rm100 and still boasting around that your appliance are saving energy |

QUOTE(DecaPix @ May 25 2015, 11:40 AM) dont understand also why some ppl keep saying R410a is super power god refrigerant when the EER is almost exactly the same with R-22. Because by talking on the gas, they can boast they know better than you, simple as that. This is something like a fanboy want to boast on his junk are superior than your equipment.improvement maybe just by tiny bit. inverter will give you better EER rather than just changing refrigerant. Regardless of what gas being used, it is just a transfer medium. How you install the air cond's outdoor unit, what is inside your room, type of bricks and paint being used and other factors come in to play. Like now I'm using non inverter air cond, my bill still about rm50-70 but a fanboy here that keep on boasting how superior his inverter air cond is, his bill still > rm100. |

QUOTE(Jason @ May 25 2015, 02:38 PM) Did you swap cars and test? It could be driving pattern. Tested, still the same. And my driving behaviour are more aggresive Just like how the same air conditioner, in the same size room, can have very different power consumption based on usage pattern. I think to summarize between R22 and R410A, very easy.. if you want cheap air con, seldom use, R22 lah. I also use R22 in my other home, I'm only there once every other month. No reason to get R410A or inverter there. If you're moving into a new home, makes more sense for R410A as you need to lay out the copper pipes, especially true for concealed pipes, as R22 is being phased out. Anyway, back to topic, some inverter models are also using R22 gas. So, the gas difference makes the air cond behave differently does not stands. Also, we can't do an objective AB test on the gas difference and the effect from it as no manufacturers are building the same air cond model that can use different gas. |

QUOTE(kimsim @ May 25 2015, 03:05 PM) Ha ha you won't knew R22 after usage a few years later on the gas itself would turn into darker or more sticky without runing smoothly, unlike when new. Yes, you are right, now my outdoor unit darn noisy when I compare it with my portable HDD That is why old compressor works harder can hear vibration and higher noise level as well But surprisingly, a new Samseng outdoor unit's noise level are like a diesel engine that never been service for 5 years I know you are trying to cheat and mislead people here on your bullshit, but until today I never see a gas will turn color by itself, especially in a closed system Want to cheat, look for better lies lar, brother. |

QUOTE(^Ware^wolf @ May 25 2015, 03:19 PM) i never believe non-inverter air con will be silent than inverter...thats bull shit as well... my neighbor staying opposite me is using non inverter... the noise level is unbearable ..luckily my overpriced flat unit is not directly facing the blackies.... Basically is the fan design matters. I every year will apply some lubricant to the bearings. My 10 year old non inverter Panasonic 1.5HP air cond's noise are at 35dB only. A York air cond can sound as loud as 45-50dB while Samseng air conds I measured when I work in Qatar are at 85dB with high vibration imagine i can listen to the compressor sound if i stay at living hall ....my flat very small unit only...less than 1400sf ,... Regular maintenance are another factor. |
