Is the new G501JW worth buying? Wondering as I need a laptop replacement badly. Hmm

Yaa because this is the first time I use Windows 8.1 (previously I hate win 8 so much )... it's so much better than win 7 SP1.

Oh I got it at RM2849 when Lazada got promo code RM300 off ... it was a real bargain... I just ordered myself yesterday an almost new 4GB RAM (Hynix, identical model with the build-in one, taken out from new Dell laptop) at RM80 when I saw it at mudah.my... also a bargain because market price RM150 new...

Next G-series?? Is it G751 just launched

Already on G751JY. lol greedy me. But i had a lemon this time. My G751 have alot of problem, from Motherboard to usb, then to wlan, then to the keyboard. already warranty for 4 times after purchase. Planing to let go as gift to relative and wait for new one. Hopefully asus release some " Beast " early next year.

Quite unlikely I think. The main reason is that there is no new technology at the moment, i.e. no new generation of the CPU or GPU. Intel Skylake is coming soon although the performance increase would properly be minimal. I believe they will only release an all-out ROG notebook once Pascal is out (where there would be substantial performance jump).

The technology is there and ready, they just holding it for marketing purpose. can't wait!

just bought one for 4.1k the lowest spec. but i love it. having come from macbook. not easy to find a laptop to replace it.

only down side is graphic card can be more powerful. windows 7 better. and mousepad not as good as mac.

Maybe they should separate the touchpad and the button, it might look classy but i really wanted to smash it when i using it. ( not my notebook btw )

They will release a refresh with new port like USB type C if its ready or Thunderbolt if its not yet available as current newer mobos trend are supporting USB 3.1 and USB type C, built-in G-Sync and so on.

Yes, that's what R&D does, develop and pending for release when the time comes.

how asus warranty service now? still bad ?

My cousin is shipping a brand new g751 for me yay!!! But from the states eh...I worry many problems, which I presume no local warranty. Should I worry??

Warranty services now improved, with faster responds too.

If you purchase from other country, you only can obtain one year warranty from local asus. Hopefully not a lemon like me, then it would be perfect.
