usually mechanic use scanner to read the ecu to get the fault code and refer to the car problem.
So just the (!), very hard to determine the problem.

Btw .. this happened to me today blush.gif
Engine overheat problem
Radiator sumbat > Overheat. Finally found the cause of temp rise.
Instead, clean the radiator and crimping the top cover back => Rm85
Was given the choice of new radiator Rm250 (but from China) and Recond radiator Rm230...
With these option, I might as well clean and use back my own. At least I know it's original.
Now my engine is good as new ... laugh.gif well almost.

Another happy news; at the drop of first bar from fuel gauge produce 156km... happy to know I can hit my usual fc of 450 - 500km for full tank.

just makes sure constant check of coolant in radiator and monitor the temp. gauge while driving.....sometimes the damage had done and need to replace head gasket later on... wink.gif

Wah how do you get so good fc. Your car is manual? Mine auto 1.6 can get 9km/liter onli. So bad fc. =,=

Does ron 97 and 95 petrol do any different to fuel consumption? Bcoz im using 97 petrol.

My engine is standard 1.5 manual. Everything from engine to exhaust are not modified.
Bought this car new 15 yrs ago and change oil regularly until now. Only thing extra is Ceratec.
But never use that before but still got the kind of fc. hmm.gif

I believe the engine pistons and bores must be clean to achieve good fc. Never flushed my engine. Tempted to do it but some say can clog the oil pump (lead to more problem) or find a really experience mechanic to do it.

And I use ron95 ... once a while pour in fuel cleaner.
Accordingly ron97 can give better fc but i never try before.

open radiator cap and see if got "teh tarik" water inside radiator instead of coolant/pure clean water...

and open oil filling cap as well to check the same "teh tarik" colour fluid....

if it does have that...just do top overhaul replace head gasket and head skimming....

teh tarik symptom was the sign of water and engine oil mixed together due to leaking head gasket.....

if all good..just monitor water level inside radiator once a week or before long journey....

btw..if engine makan minyak..normally its due to valve seal...some workshop with special tool can replace the valve seal without remove the engine head.....cheaper on overall cost and can be done within a few hours....

but if the head gasket comfirmed spoiled, better get it done alltogether....one time job kills 2 problem...

Thanks for the reply bro. Memang pun ada "teh tarik" inside radiator.
Thought it was syabas water problem.

Also i heard for makan minyak problem, we need to change the PCV valve? I also heard to change valve seals too.
Btw, how does valve seal connect to the radiator? blush.gif

You know how much is it to change the valve seal and head gasket? notworthy.gif

check inside the oil filler cap also to double confirm...if got same teh tarik colour...confirm head gasket kong already......

if replace valve seal along with head gasket....depend on what other item replaced...

head gasket around rm80-120, valve seal around rm15-rm20/pcs multiple by valve number.....workmanship maybe around rm150-200 or cheaper depend on workshop......must take account cost to send radiator for flush/cuci and other replacement hose.....

drive like granma....i let the gearbox acelerate the car and cruise...normally carry the cruising speed on corner..coasting to traffic light stop.....but my figure that one was the best i can get...normally 1st bar only around 130km-140km because chasing time work etc etc.....but i always make sure engine oil, coolant in good condition...and play2 with distributor adjustment to suits....less power but easier to drive smoothly.....and i did minor adjustment in autogearbox pressure adjustment....(not sure if add to better fc...just try2 playing on stock setup only)
