Msi suffers from hinge problem and keyboard led lights dying… not too sure if they fix it in latest model or not.

hmm, my GS63 been nearly 4 year are still fine beside the wording on the keyboard start to fade due to my sweat, I an say either you are very unlucky or you did not take care of the hinge, but if your laptop rgb start to fade go and send into warranty lol

I do think the hinge problem you referring to are like 3 - 4 year old model, to be honest every brand laptop sure have problem depending on user usage and mostly luck. i've been using and reviewing them for quite some time and i have no problem with that.

I do agree the hinge from older model have problem which occur to me too. but the newer one definitely an improvement.

Wow, is he either super unlucky or what. Nevertheless, problem always occur no matter what product or brand, but personally using a newer MSI model and the hinge definitely more sturdy than my previous model

most of you report on hinge issue...

mine GE73VR broken once... already repair and now broken back on the cover... need to send to repair...

and now on the left edge, there is around 2-3 pixel straight from bottom to top like different colour(it like cyan/blue color) just like in the picture...

Well, every brand have their issues, unlucky or lucky is the main deal though. Just choose which brand is more suitable for you and you able to get through it (worse case scenario). As long its not like Leenovo that does not give a damn when got problem then overall it is fine. If you are that unlucky, no matter which brand you use, you also might screw it up.

I dont know... where did you read about the countless complains?
I personally own MSI laptops. But as always I do love to read about a good gossip.
The recent Alienware burning up was pretty juicy.

My old MSI laptop does have slight hinge issue. But at least it is better than my Classmate's ROG that throttle like hell in performance and have motehrboard issues that service for 3 time, replaced a new one and get the same problem. Luck is definitely a factor that I agree, but still the confident in them is gone.

It is hard to say, a lot circumstances will cause us to think bad QC etc. Even if the QC did good, but the delivery done bad by the courier, and we will tend to blame the main production. For devices like these i do believe they manage to do their job in QC, just the courier in each country have different work ethic, especially Malaysia courier sucks balls.
