Around rm5xx 250gb (OS, apps and some games that load quite heavy are installed here), I think it's enough as the original 1tb hard disk installed on another drive bay, all the junk files i dump it there  biggrin.gif

Haha. Mine for now only 128gb. Quite small so I installed all the games at the HDD. Planning to upgrade to 256gb SSD too. So yours now is 2 ssd raid 0?

Edited: One more thing, where did u upgrade bro?

If you read the review, 850 Pro is better bro and more lifespan, go for it. But if you tight on budget, 840 Evo is already good enough. I have no more budget as I already spent too much on this laptop hahaha biggrin.gif

No bro, only 1 ssd and 1 hdd. I'm planning to Raid it but maybe in the future. I upgraded it at one of the authorize reseller, they just install the ssd (but must keep the receipt to prove that this laptop has been opened by them) and the rest I do it myself. Installing windows and everything.
Owh..and i deleted the hidden partition to save the space biggrin.gif

I see. Bro can you also help me out.

What RAM is MSI GP60 2PE using? Is it low voltage or normal voltage?

And also how many RAM slots does it have?

Bro, check with CPU-Z and go to SPD tab, choose the slot. At the bottom you will see how much voltage for the ram. My GT70 is 1.35V. I'm not sure what's yours.

I checked online they state is DDR3L and I asked some other sellers they told me is low voltage. Some website states that its DDR3 SO-DIMM.

Just wanted to confirm here if its really low voltage.

Wouldn't want to waste money buying the wrong RAM.

I think its better to bring your laptop to authorize reseller/service centre bro, they will know what to do.
Since your laptop is still under warranty, it is better to let them open it biggrin.gif

Its such a hassle to go back and forth from my place to the shop.

I thought of getting the RAM and SSD from another seller and go to official retailer to get them to help install it.

So can cut down on travelling time. sad.gif

Desktop graphics... Notebook CPU?

So, we found this thing in the office. Apparently, it is a notebook, with a… Desktop GPU? At PCI-E 3.0 x16, no less.

What might this wizardry be? Any takers?

Why Quadro?

If you’re already reading this in a sub-forum titled “Workstation notebooks” you probably already know what the uses are for a Quadro. Still, we’d like to try and explain what the benefits of workstation graphics cards are.

In short, however, let us explain it this way – a workstation graphics card (i.e. an NVIDIA Quadro card, as found in the MSI WS/WT series) is a card optimized for specific tasks, such as CAD or other cases with demanding GPU simulations. Or, as NVIDIA itself puts it:

“The Quadro mobile workstation product family offers a complete range of graphics with unmatched performance and quality for the most demanding professionals on the go. From digital content creators on a movie set, to design engineers at a remote plant, to geo-scientists on an oil rig, mobile professionals bring Quadro graphics where their work is.”

So the target audience is clear – professionals. But what about the performance? As with everything else, it’s different from test to test, but in general, the properly specialized software, such as Catia, Maya and SolidWorks will make full use of a workstation card, and it’s these users who are the target audience of the MSI Workstation notebooks.

In any case, our findings show that even the entry level Quadro K2100M, as found in the WS60, will completely monster even the GTX 780M in all professional applications.

user posted image

Granted, the result would be more or less the other way round in games, but for those serious about their work in animation, CAD and other demanding applications should consider a mobile Quadro to boost their productivity.

We will return to this topic in the future with updated tests, watch this space.

Try to uninstall it, and install back with the latest version if your version is old.

It happened to me as well, after 2 months i can feel my laptop startup was getting slower and slower and that's why I upgraded to SSD. Its not just MSI, other laptop as well.

Hello there, here's some story of mine. My laptop have been stole and after few investigation with police, this week i got my laptop back and the thieves have been caught. However, the laptop is still held on by police as it is one of the evidence of the case but soon I can take the laptop back.

My question is, if the thief has formatted the OS (windows 8.1) to the pirated OS, can i send to MSi service centre to reset the OS to the original back? For the internal parts I don't think the thief manage to change any of the part yet. I just afraid about the OS, because I set password to unlock the laptop, and they must have formatted it to pass thru my password.

Thanks.

GE60/70 Upgrade guide

We’ve been getting requests for upgrade videos lately, so we decided we should give it a try. The most popular models to upgrade are probably the GE60/70, in which you can quite easily replace the RAM, HDD, SSDs as well as the WiFi/Bluetooth card.

In case you were curious on how to upgrade your GE before, you no longer have to be. We take you through the steps over a 10-minute video on Youtube.
