i was going through the list of what ought to be declared, and i saw a section saying that  used sportswear i.e shoes that you bring have to be declared as well to check for possibility of trapping contaminated soil on your shoe, this is the first time i came across such rule, just wondering does anyone here really do declare their shoes?

friend tried to declare his sandals which he usually wears when he goes diving. officers at the airport convinced him to not declare them heh

but yea, i've seen people whose golf shoes had to be taken out of the bag and sent to clean

^ those are golfers ma.. for me i'd prefer to declare soiled shoes even though i have none, cos they'll just ask what kinda shoes are those, i say normal sneakers or sport shoes, and they'll just direct me to the xray machine. i rather go thru that than have a 5% chance of getting my bag ransacked at the green lane tongue.gif

its best to make sure those are fully labelled but still might not be worth all the hassle as the customs can be a real pain. The adoption of vista by corporations or unis is still in not in big scale. It is highly unlikely they would have gone ahead with the upgrade so soon.

I declared my paracetamol and Zrytec tablets when I brought it in last time. The officer told me it's not necessary because they're not after such "drugs", but you can do the same to be safe.
OT: Why do you need a new laptop for Vista? As nyprinz83 said, Vista adoption will be pretty slow for universities because there is a lot at stake, mainly compatibility issues. If you're in Computing, you're most likely to be using Linux, but Windows for others.

Get those winter clothes in Australia. There are places selling them for REALLY cheap. Even cheaper than Malaysia. Don't bring alot of stuff. Most of the stuff, you can just simply get them from there. Not worth your energy and luggage space.

Melbourne has 4 seasons a day. So get a good jacket that can be flexible. Once you wear it, NOT TOO COLD, NOT TOO HOT. biggrin.gif

I like JayJays..... when on sale... a winter jacket is only around $20 something. SO CHEAP! and it is really good to insulate heat.

Melbourne is 38 today. So crazy. Plus with the wind, it is quite disastrous. Can't even walk properly on the street.
