QUOTE(mayalab @ Jul 1 2016, 05:25 PM) Too bad not for M'sia Mazda SC. Maybe they made a deal with Shell Malaysia, they got the oil cheap but it is not a correct spec for CX5. Avoid 5W-40, it is too viscous and make your car sluggish. I think modern Jap cars like this CX5 would be xW20 and not more than xW30.

You don't have to top up additional ~RM150 for their Shell Helix Ultra 5W-40. Just use back their semi synthetic oil without paying extra. Of course theoretically this semi syn oil can't last for 10,000km OCI. So the option is that you can choose to do the oil change at outside workshops when you are free. With this ~RM150 budget on hand, there are quite a number of selections for correct spec of oil. There is no need to change the oil filter; but basically is just draining of oil. You still pay the money, but you feed your car with correct and better oil, and it won't void your warranty as SC won't know this.

Hi. Do you guys pump petrol using RON 95 or RON 97? When I pump using RON 95 i feel the car is a bit sluggish and need to press more to accelerate and not as smooth. But when i use RON 97 it feels slightly better. I dunno if its just me but does it really make a difference whether using RON 95/97?

Hi all! Joining the CX-5 club here. Took delivery of the 2.5L version last month.
One thing I notice is the ride is quite bumpy (after several complaints from passengers at the back). Any idea if changing the stock toyo tyres help? Waiting for it to wear out..

Maybe because of that. You can reduce the tyre pressure to help a bit. Otherwise avoid pot holes and drive slower in the mean time.

Works extremely well on high compression engines. There is definitely a substantial difference, most notably on highway driving. Use Shell Helix ultra engine oil for a small boost of fuel consumption and engine refinement

Hi Everyone,
I'm pretty close to buying a CX-5 2.5 and wanted to find out if what I'm getting is a fair deal? They offered me, 3k discount (after some negotiating), a Full Hd dashboard Camera, and a full tank of petrol. Any response would be very much appreciated.
Thanks

Thanks I think you can get 4k for cash rebate with the full tank. For HD camera, i dont think is a good brand will provide by salesman. I can send you my salesman contact if you wan because he gave me a good offer for the 2.0 GL spec.
