No issue on other color so far.
Coating only makes cleaning easier and the car looks shinier but it does not protect the paint. Only PPF does that but even with PPF, it does not 100% guarantee no stone/paint chip. Seriously if this is a global issue they should have do something about it.

i see. good that other colours have no issue. Thanks

coating will not help on the paint chip causes my stone. I have ceramic pro 9h coating on my cx5 but some stone chip are pretty deep on it. Unless u willing to go for ppf wrap

can get your personal review on ceramic pro 9h coating? did you do the 3 layers or 6 layers + interior coating.
im still not sure for the interior coating. was thinking of over the shelf leather protector products might be better.

i took 6 layers + interior coating 10 years package cost me 4k+ last time. For me the skill of the shop is important. My side the shop is not really good in polishing. the polish scattered and they still apply coating on it. My fren case, polished until the paint become dull.. over polished.

for interior actually nothing much help if u take care ur car.. cx5 interior sensitive to heat make sure ur tint and sun shade is good to block the heat if not ur steering will peel off. But i am 1.5 gen owner not sure if the same problem still exist in 2nd gen. I took the package because i wanted more layer of coat. bruce.gif

And coating d doesnt mean you dont have to take care ur car. I left my car outdoor and prone for rain. Even wash my car every week / alternative week, i still get a lot of water mark where i have to send back to ceramic pro to correct it only after 6 months of application.

actually nothing can really prevent stone chips lah, imagine the tiny little stone can even cause your windscreen (such a hard surface) to crack, what's more on this tiny layer of paint?

did you do coating for your car ?
*
I did Sensa Coating for my CX-5 which only cost me less than RM800.
I doubt more expensive coating costing a few times more will prevent any paint chip.

guys, does your cx5 comes with charcoal cabin filter? or just the normal white filter?

appreciate you guy's input. especially from the 2.2d owners.

TIA

I'm unsure.. Will ask at upcoming first service.

Well known issues in the local FB groups too.
Some early adopters already complaint on the paint chip issues for the SRC
*
Yup and part of the reasons I changed my mind about the SRC.. I love my car looking good within reason and SRC just proves too much work for me. Plus most of the expensive coating or PPF etc costs more than it'll take for me to resprary the entire car in say 5 years and I can choose a different color or SRC then.. So meh... Pay so much now not worth.. IMO.

There's none. You'd be lucky to even be able to book and have your car registered before SST prices kick in.

I'm going the DIY route.. Apply every 6 months and take pride in my work.. Still way cheaper even after a couple years and with similar protection as the premium products.. If you've got the time and endurance, couple hours on a weekend.. I advise to go the DIY route. I've already applied a protective layer/conditioner for the whole interior, including the boot. Next up is the exterior. flex.gif

They won't.. Ask any and they'll say the same thing.. No such guarantee. Only 100% guarantee is to park the car in a closed off garage and never take it out. Else, just drive your car and enjoy its looks while it lasts.

oh thx for the review.

just wondering, you sent back to ceramic pro for touch up, how do they charge?

i asked my local ceramic pro shop, they say dont need to go back for check. if want, can do once a year but they didnt tell me whether got charge.

is it for the shop to tell you whether need touch up or where to touch up, or your own decision?

no touch up required. send back for free. if u accident, one panel at 1 time they can do for u free. they verbally tell me there's a limit only how many times u can go in a year... 1st year 3 times, 2nd year 2 times, 3rd year 1 time and the rest the same.

Don't despair.
At least you guys don't have to pay the 6% GST, unlike some of us early adopters cry.gif

It is a good car, with better driving dynamic over the similarly-priced SUVs.

depends on how u see it dude.. u pay premium price for a porsche u might get plastic windows .. sometime its to consider the weight..
with the high strength tensile of this car with some part as high as 1800 mpa, this car only weight 1500 kg, they must find some way to reduce the weight. imagine a sedan like civic already weight 1316 kg

so windscreen and noise insulation got scarified compare to other Japanese luxury suv like harrier / lexus
